Yeah I was genuinely surprised that there wasn't a huge difference. I was also relieved because I have a TON of black card stock to work through now lol.

I use a Swiffer dust pad (cloth ?) to wipe embossing powder and/or anti-static powder off my cardstock! In reality, I believe it's the only time I "dust"!!! I loved the comparison! I especially appreciate the color comparison. I'm one who wants black cardstock as dark as possible. It's crazy to have so many different colors of black and/or white!! This is especially true with wall and ceiling paint (Sherman Williams, Porter, Dutch Boy, Valspar, etc.)! TFS

I was surprised at how much darker the Hero Arts looks. A few months back I purchased a pack of Hero Arts Iris (purple) card stock and even though I liked it, it's expensive and I find myself saving it for special projects. I use Hobby Lobby's extra thick black and white card stock. I find that it meets my needs, I just make cards for family/friends, and fun. I would have been interested in seeing it compared to the four brands you showed.

Thanks for the comparison, the Hero Arts looks really dark and rich! I also use a Swiffer sheet to clean off the static powder, works great for glitter and golfing flakes too!

I've heard that tip, I will have to give that a try. I must ask, do you know if there is any fragrance or cleaners in the swiffer sheets? Sadly I have allergies to different chemicals and I'm super sensitive to fragrance. Thanks for watching!!

Regarding the cottontail embossing tool. I was having trouble white embossing on black cardstock , so I’m so glad you mentioned using white pigment ink. Can you also do a video on the opposite of white on black and test black embossing powder on white cardstock? Thanks

Hi there, I actually don't ever use black embossing powder because it's too messy and leaves specks behind. What I do instead is stamp with a black pigment ink like versafine claire nocturne and coat it with clear embossing powder. I hope that helps!! Thanks so much for watching and for the note!

Thanks for doing this comparison!! I love embossing white on black but am always so frustrated with the little specks I seem to get regardless of the paper, embossing powder and anti-static powder I use. Will give it a go again and try the Hero Arts paper and see how it works this time. I'm trying to do more heat embossing and have made those tools more readily available so I do use them more. 😊 And I'm glad I'm not the only one who steers away from the embossing because I always make such a mess with the embossing powder!😉🥺

@@amyswares I has been one of my favorites. Her colored cardstock is smooth and works well in the Spellbinders Glimmer Machine. It embosses well. I have using my stock up. I have black scraps that I will continue to use till gone.

I'm guessing that you'll have enough masculine sentiments for a while now. Thanks for this comparison. I struggle a bit with heat embossing. I'm afraid of heating it too much and end up with it shiny but not quite totally finished and as soon as I touch it the powder flakes off. I may start trying the craft gun instead of the heat embossing tool to avoid burning the cardstock. (Yes, I do heat up the embossing gun first.)

I use the Michael's Recollections black cardstock (300 gsm/110 lb.) because it's so thick. Have you ever tried that paper?

Hi there, I DO actually have that as well and use it for other black card stock needs. I do prefer the ones mentioned in the vid for the white heat embossing though. It's a great heavy duty card stock for sure! Thanks for watching!
