I worked with a guy that was born without a hand. He loved it when people made jokes about it. Like, "Need a hand?" I've been binge-watching Chubbyemu videos lately. They're basically 10 minute medical breakdowns on freak accidents and explaining the mechanics of different diseases. At the end, he always reports the status of the patient from the case. Most notably, he makes a heavy distinction between "a recovery" and "a full recovery". Sure, Fetterman may be on track for a recovery, but it likely won't be a full recovery. And that's an important distinction if that means he won't recover all of his cognitive capabilities and still plans to actively participate in politics.

The issue isn't being handicapped, such as being blind, deaf, or wheelchair bound like Ana cited, the issue is cognitive ability. People on the left and right question Bidens' cognitive ability due to age. Ronald Reagan's mental health decline was an issue during his presidency. A stroke affects your cognitive ability. So why wouldn't it be a point of concern if someone is no longer able to handle the cognitive demands of a job like state senator. The issue isn't physical handicaps but mental ones.

My grandma had a stroke when i was 3, i grew up with her, going to her physical therapy and years of doctors appointments until she passed when i was 14. he should have taken a time out and healed, you don't heal overnight, and if he goes to the Senate he likely never will. This isn't fair to him or his family.

There's no way of knowing it is a "temporary condition" without getting a doctor's prognosis. My understanding is that it could improve to basically normal function, or it may not and basically stay the same.

Just listened to defranco on fetterman. I'm trying but I couldn't see where dr oz said negatives about fetterman but it looked a lot like defranco was saying so. I dont know if oz said anything on it, just his campaign saying he had probably terrible diet.

I've had a traumatic brain injury myself probably a lot worse than his stroke and I would not want to challenge folks on a verbal intellectual level just don't have it anymore. He cannot and should not be allowed to be a senator and he should own up to that and respectfully pull out of the race.
