What a gem of an overlooked adventure-RPG hybrid, so many memorable characters, locations (the comic book section!). Loved finding those 'bugs' to upgrade my weapons...wish there'd be a sequel. Sly Boots & Fatima needed more adventures

Playing this game right now using Playonlinux and man, it's not bad! The graphics are dated but if you can get past it, the gameplay and music kind of puts you right on the alien planet Anachronox and the weird and cold place it is! Games like this always feel so cozy!

Greetings! Yeah, the first part on "Anachronox" planet itself feels so… depressive, cold and heavy. But later it becomes more and more fun. The game has style, so graphics, even today, feels accurate, although the grass texture is horrible. And I would say, that it is the bless, that it runs under opengl api.

wooaaa!!! Finally a good Anachronox walkthrough! All others have terrible resolution or suck so bad at playing... or say stupid things. You are a hero! I see you have a HD mod aplied. The subtitles at the cutscenes, are they a game setting or a mod? I played this game 3 times (completed) and don't know that.

Greetings! The HD is just a mod for resolution. You can turn on subtitles in: Main Menu-Options-Game options (collum)-Subtitles Options(bottom)-"Subtitles and Voice-overs"

Bro, I'm playing this game right now and stuck on a further mission. Hopefully you cover it in your next video. I'm just amazed at the full gameplay. It's a pain to look in the internet for further progression. I wonder if you Boots lockpicking skill progression. What does Grandpa Learn in the last minutes of the video? Thanks for the hardwork! Yes, you right. Members of Ion Storm previously had been working in ID Software, so, I think, they believed that they can handled with Id Tech. I might say that it’s a strange chose - for Deus Ex they used Unreal Engine, although Deus Ex is much more shooting game than turn-based Anachronox. On release many elements was really buggy - eax effects leads to crush; I could not pass Sender station airport location - instant crush etc. Now days some elements are still bugging - Rho shield, Stiletto pirouette and first skill, maybe something else that I forget. And of course, cheat menu - if you used that it can break your save files after many-many hours of gameplay.

How to run it in 4K? My windows gets bigger than the monitor, and I can't find any way to make it right?

Good day. Give more information: 1. Did you install the HD mod from community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1549-anachronox/ ? 2. What is your native resolution? 3. Is Windows scaling for monitor bigger then 100%?

@@bipidri 1) I did install both versions, 4K and custom, both to the same effect 2) My native is 4K 3) I think it's 150%. You think that's the problem?

@@Demetrius900000 Well, I try to simulate your situation, but everything works correct in my system. What I can suggest: 1) Scaling above 100% is verry often the reason for old games 2) If you using "Fresh" Windows - game should be complete reinstalled (I'm using GOG version); because I remember such problem accrued to me, when I try to just start game on fresh Windows, but window was cropped - so I reinstalled the game and mod and it works fine 3) Try to experiment with ingame resolutions via GCT Setup.exe file in directory 4) All compatibility options are disabled in my system, maybe something will help you there… 5) And how game works without HD mod?

@@bipidri latest windows, haven't played the game in this PC, game is from steam, without any mods it works in lowres with black bars on all sides (looks okay but not as sharp as in 4K). Will check if scaling is the problem later, thanks for the suggestion! Moved on to other stuff for a time. Will write to you when get to it.
