I live in the midwest so most of the stuff that I order comes for either Denver or Plano. However, I had to make a trip to CA a couple of years back for a funeral and had the opportunity to visit the Anaheim Store. Unfortunately, the strip mall was having their roof redone and HRO had to remove their antennas so radios could not be demonstrated. I did end up buying a Yaesu FTM-6000 and RT Systems programming. Great staff. I didn't see the gentleman that helped me out.

Do you sell radio scanners for police fire and air..?
@HamRadioOutlet3 ай бұрын
Yes, we sell scanners. However, many (most?) police and fire departments have moved to encrypted, spread-spectrum, trunked systems, and there are no scanners that can decrypt those transmissions. Air band (private and commercial ATC etc) is still sent in the clear. Go to our website (www.hamradio.com) and put "scanner" in the search box at the top of the page.

WHY, are the Andersons NOT on the back? All base stations radios have the power fittings on the back. I bought my power supply from Samlex unit, just for that reason! We have all of the wires hidden in the back, so WHY, would I want them running to the front of the unit?
@HamRadioOutlet27 күн бұрын
Not sure what you're talking about as this video doesn't show power supplies... but, no radios from any of the major manufacturers come with Anderson connectors on their DC power cords. They all come with bare wire. For base station radios, where they are rarely moved, the power cable is usually screwed into the terminals on the back. If you need Anderson connectors on the back, cut a short length off the supplied DC power cable and make a short jumper cable with bare wire that screws into the rear terminals and put Anderson connectors on the other end. "Problem" solved. The front Anderson connectors are for powering auxiliary equipment... like when you want to test a mobile radio... but can also be used for more permanent installations too.

Why does it seem every amateur radio operator I meet does such a crappy job installing their radios??? Wires everywhere, crappy mounting brackets... It looks terrible and not functional... My radios in my Toyota Tacoma you can't see one wire. Radiohead's mounted properly in a functional spot. Looks very professional...

I am have serious OCD about wiring. I absolutely hate messy wiring. Mine looks like it’s a factory wire harness in my vehicles. Even the wiring on my ATV, SxS , motorcycle and tractor is super clean and all hidden in wire loom and probably secured.
