​@@JK-g62Black bears typically don't bother humans unless they are provoked or feel threatened. I've been within 50 feet of a black bear, as were at least a dozen other people, and he was just chillin' in a tree. He didn't care about our presence at all. I imagine it would be very different with a grizzly or polar bear, but black bears are pretty relaxed with humans. 🙂

Hi, we're from Scotland and came over to the smoky mountain area a few weeks ago. We love your videos, and you've showed us some great places and fun things to do. I was part of the building crew that built this coaster and the bird venture which they are still doing maintenance on they are planning on removing the slides already because someone got hurt on them and it's too dangerous for kids it was a fun experience building on the park

This ride would be really awesome and somewhat spooky at night. The views on this ride are absolutely incredible. The beautiful woods that you ride throughout the coaster is amazing. This is more of a scenic ride than a 🎢🎢rollercoaster🎢🎢, but that's not taking anything away from this ride. The views are worth it 1000%!

We went to the Smokies in 2021 and visited Anakeesta. We took the chair lift up and on the way back down we took the truck. Good thing we did because the chair stopped working. It was down for a long time, people were stuck on it.

If you watch any of our Anakeesta videos you would notice we always take the rambler (truck). People love the chairlift, but we like to be able to simply walk of the truck if it ever broke down for a period of time!

Watching these kinds of rides make me think of when I played WoW and the flight paths that sometimes zipped through the trees. Seeing bears would be cool but I'd be afraid one would charge toward the tram. Or are they so used to people that they don't feel threatened? Neat never been on one of these and the scenery is spectacular. Back in the day we had something that was sort of the ancestor of this, it was this fiberglass track you rode down the face of a ski slope on, riding this little wheeled sled. You could slow it down by retracting the wheels or raising them to speed up. The track basically a shallow culvert kind of thing, it was very easy to fly up and over the side of it or flip over. It was really rocky and there weren't hay bales netting. The ride was called the alpine slide, the park was called Action Park, nicknamed traction park bc of all the injuries ( there is a documentary about it in you tube i think the guy running it was quite the con man). Today the park is called mountain creek and is totally different,the alpine slide and other dangerous attractions were removed decades ago.

Great video. I was told by the staff there that you cannot ride a vehicle to the top of the mountain. I was told that you can only use the sky lift to get up there. The staff at Anakeesta told my family that the only way to get to the top is by riding the sky lift. In your video, you were able to ride to the top. They told us you could not ride to the top. You had to ride the sky lift.

I was there back in April and I did purchase a ticket for the coaster but it got rained out and I never got to ride. So it would be nice to ride the Anakeesta Hellbender Mountain Coaster. Looks fun I wonder how bouncy it is.

Anakeesta Hellbender Mountain Coaster. We will have to try that ride out in August when we go to Gatlinburg. Looks like fun 👍

That looked like a lot of fun. Was there two mountain coasters up there? You mentioned you could ride rail runner and then ride the hellbender. ANAKEESTA HELLBENDER MOUNTAIN COASTER. GREAT JOB. 👏👏👏

Yes Renee, there are 2 coasters. Their Rail Runner has been there for some time. The Hellbender is their new one which is a lot smoother.

Anakeesta Hellbender Mountain Coaster. This ride looked awesome! And that’s a hard choice picking between the coaster and seeing a bear…I would say the coaster and my hubby would say the bear! 🤣 can’t wait to ride it over Christmas!!
