I have no problem listening to Bryan, but I really liked how in this video Bryan let Barney do all the talking. That’s a really nice low ego and high praise move dude and the video itself is incredible. Cheers to you both.

Spot on. I suspect that throwing out the background was the camera manufacturers' way of making us chase ever more faster "pro" lenses and hiding our weakness as a photographer behind that layer of blurriness.

You’re not gonna see this since the video is a bit old but I wanted to say a few things. Your channel is amazing, not only are your photos impressive but the way you highlight artists that still use their hands and hearts is... well hart warming. You’re doing great things! Also hearing Barney is just now discovering the intertwined world of still and cinema photography his work is going to explode!

@@BryanBirks awesome! I didn’t mean to say you’re too good to read comments, just that your channel is getting bigger and this is a slightly older video. Unrelated but I live in Colorado and your photos of the state were inspiring! Sometimes an outsiders perspective can really help.

Hey Bryan, I'm a female analog photographer + youtuber based out in Berlin Germany, loved this video, as I really love Barney's work! I do wonder why there are so few female photographers on KZbin…not sure

There are quite a few that are gaining recognition and that is a good thing! I think the more women that do it, slowly more will follow. At least I hope. I am already finding many new female photographers through Instagram and I hope to find more on here.

His work is awesome! He makes a good point about making videos that are authentic vs making videos solely for the algorithm. I think it’s probably a good idea to do those more algorithm-friendly videos in the beginning while you’re figuring out what you really want to make. Music artists do this all the time by starting with “pop music” and slowly transitioning into more experimental music.

i would disagree portraits are the most boring style of photography. everything is fake and forced., no natural flow
@BryanBirks3 жыл бұрын
Everything is fake Phillip. Nothing is natural as soon as you compose. It’s forced perspective of your own imagination.
@swimkidandy3 жыл бұрын
@@BryanBirks No life is real, studios, studio lights, backdrops, flashes are fake, its almost like being forced to watch an elementary school photographer on picture day; but you are concerned about looking cool so you choose film cameras and try to make fun of high pixel digital cameras. But your obsessed with perfectionism by the themes of your videos, like you are a walking contradiction. Are you trying to capture the perfect fake photo? Like that sounds like a bunch of boring images, which is why i stopped watching your stuff, bland. The best photography captures a true moment of imperfection. You guy create these sterile images that are hard to look at, as i say again grade school picture day photographer.
