“The rabbit is starving.” Refers to Susan starving in the banny animatronic. She wasn’t immediately dead from Bon attacking her, she slowly starved.

iirc, the people within the animatronics are still alive. i don't remember my source of if this is a headcanon im mistaking for actual canon but im pretty sure there was some implication that the people inside the animatronics never died and are still experiencing pain

@@thestargazer679 Well I thought about it like fnaf logic, It's like they're curse that robots after they die they control it with their souls in it because... I don't know they die inside it? This is happening in reality as well, as the souls of curse the dolls are still with them, such theories are turning around. It is not known how true it is. Of course, we can move forward with this logic at most, because while it is a questionable fact whether they are still alive inside, it is obvious that they control the robots inside. What if I told you that I've already been exposed to horror movies as early as 3/4 years old. And that ended up being the case when I fell in love wiht horror 20 years ago in 2003 at the age of 7. And my goodness some of the horror trailers they had in the 2000s was scary man. These days AAA horror movies don't even come close to the originals nor the ones from my childhood. I was always a SAW fan deep down and loved the original 7 movies and two video games that came out in the early/mid/late 2000s.

Another thing that suggested to me that mimics are capable of being killed is in the most recent episode where the team clears the building. If you inspect the two guys taking guard in the hallway, you can tell that their fingers are abnormally long which IMO means they could be mimics being used as security.

It’s frequently stated that Mimics are smart, since they tend to learn the schedules of their victims. Perhaps those “Mimics” understand that it’s easier to just stand around with these people as they’ll get easy free meals, thus they tolerate the cultists and even serve them to a degree with the promise of food.

The disturbing deaths of others or their fate is always has been a type of nightmare people will have. Analog horror became a very popular and amazing genre from the horror. But since there has been issues were analog horror is not becoming less popular that what others thought. But most people are trying their best to bring it back. The Walten Files was my first introduction to real analog horror, and it creeped me out so much because the animation and edits and storytelling style was like nothing I had ever seen before, my brain was completely unprepared for it, and it was like re-experiencing horror for the first time. Like that horrifying unprecedented territory feeling I felt when I first watched The 6th Sense as a little kid and had never seen a real horror film before. TWF didn't scare me that much when I first watched it (I have a high tolerance to horror) but I couldn't get it out of my head for days afterwards and I had to keep coming back and rewatching it. That's the sign of a really good horror series.

What I love about The Walten Files is, despite it looking very cheap at parts, I think it actually works in favor of the creepy factor. Like, when it shows a drawing of a person distorted with red smudges all around it to imply they're dead, it does so much to imply carnage rather than showing realistic gore. The distorted old-timey music makes it even worse.

Honestly the 2 best moments for Vita Carnis is the intro video for the Mimic's and the child/mother falling victim to the harvester, the reason why is because of how brutal and how terrifying it is to listen/watch. Seriously i was terrified watching that first video, the 2nd video was goofier because you saw the full look of the mimic, and it kinda looked dumb, when you only got a partial look at the mimic before it lunged it was horrific. For the harvest, the sound quality of that video, dear lord it was insanely high quality, it made me feel unnerved because of how viseral the screaming was. Also my favorite moment for the "Monument Mythos" is that when everyone is fighting on the ship from the Suez Canal, that a bunch of Americans shot each other to death over a grill cause all of em called Dibs on it at the same time.

Analog horror and horror is a slightly different rabbit hole than what your typical horror buff might understand. It's slow-paced and capable of being in your face with the eerie nature of what grounds it: silence. You are given time to process the things you are shocked about, experiencing the horror at your own pace, and with how KZbin is, you and your morbid curiosity are the only driving factor to bringing those chills to fall down your spine.

It's really interesting seeing the interpretations of the mythos from someone who got into it after the season re-organization, I mean, originally the series didn't have anything to do with cornerfolk, and only later did Alex(mister manticore) reintroduce the conerfolk idea, and attach it to the mythos (originally it was a standalone video) and so seeing 4 interpret the series with the corners and reality jumping as a primer was really interesting.

Back in 1984 our family was living in Phoenix AZ and every Saturday Mom and I and sometimes a sister would go to the flea market. At one of the tables they had a box of VHS tapes. They all had masking tape on each of them with labels for movies or TV shows. The whole box was priced at 2.00$ My mom had a huge push cart so she bought the whole thing. After getting them home I wanted to see what was on them. A lot of them were too crazy in a kind of way where the tape itself was too warped to watch. Probably because of the summer sun. But in the boxes one tape played a little too well. It was a video of a woman who was handcuffed to some water pipes. She was pleading for her life and at different cuts she had either a bloody nose or a bloodier nose or blood coming from her nose and ears. We called the police and they took the tape and each time we called to see if they needed to know the date and times of the sale from the seller they claimed it was taken care of but there was nothing on the news about it.

Honestly, The Walten Files is super underwhelming for me. It feels quite cookie cutter as far as aesthetic and general idea. I do like how the voice recordings are used though. Maybe I should try to get further into it. Most people miss a lot of the details of Vita Carnis on first watch, so I definitely recommend minaxa’s videos on it if you want some thorough explanation on the slightly hidden meaning of some parts. Hella dope that you checked out Monuments Mythos. That one’s my favorite, too. It feels so different from every other analog horror I’ve seen so far. Definitely a very unique idea with surprisingly unsettling conclusions. Although I think Lincoln Looker could have been a lot more terrifying if it was a permanent/until death kinda deal

im surprised you say that walten files feels cookie cutter, for me personally i feel like the aesthetic/art style is the most unique and ambitious out of all of the popular analog horrors. but thats just me, i still see where you are coming from

The Walten Files has some good moments but it never really scared me besides Boozoo's Ghosts but the scariest series I've ever seen is Harmony and Horror made by Battington. Nothing even comes close, I think what makes it so good is that it uses terror, even the first ten seconds of the first episode have you on the edge of your seat and it only goes up from there. Also Monument Mythos is definitely my favorite out of all I've seen, it's just got such a unique story with excellent presentation.

I think it is scarier if the Lincoln looker is only for the presidential term (which stands to reason as there can only be one at a time). It means that there are maybe a dozen of them getting around America as we speak, and if you happen to cross a future president you could be next.

@@kisterdrumsah, I haven’t watched much of it. I just remember it being *veeerrrrryyyyy* reminiscent of Five Night at Freddy’s, creepypastas, and a lot of retro horror videogames, which is an aesthetic that has been overdone to death imo. I should probably watch more of it though before I make my mind up.

Using this vid as exposure therapy. I so badly want to appreciate the artistic skill and talent that goes into making effective horror, but for me its TOO effective. Having someone walk me through it makes it easier to consume and enjoy!

I'm a cannabis farmer so the term clippings kind of takes on a different meaning and makes me think of Vita carnis slightly different because in my industry a clipping is a clone of a plant so if you look at this as like somehow being plant-based meat that's able to clone itself then it's kind of extra freaky

One thing I hate about Vita Carnis is that they tell you to wait for the dish to cool is because it'll kill bacreria AND SPORES. Which is just an absolutely harrowing detail. (Hate as in my spine becomes jello, I love this series.)
