would u ever do your twist on a perlon style record?

I might… If more of you want that, than I’d have to look into it

Isn’t the RK008 too small for live? For when you want to mute tracks?
@AnalogKitchen4 ай бұрын
You can midi map a controller to it. I’m going to link a faderfox to it and to the octatrack. But I don’t think anything can be too small when it comes to gear
@Sockeater4 ай бұрын
Thanks for this video! Does the RK008 let you nudge notes around? Like if you want to mess with the groove or if you record a single note mistake you want to fix just that note?
@RetrokitsDev4 ай бұрын
With the new firmware you can nudge notes in time and nudge the tone / length / velocity as well. There’s a midi event editor which allows you to edit every aspect of the midi message

@@RetrokitsDev Just installed the new firmware but all links to the RK008 manual still point to the 2.20 version. How do we enter this new midi event editor?
@RetrokitsDev4 ай бұрын
@@mauriziomauricone perhaps do a shift+refresh on the manual pdf to load the extra page of the event editor. You can enter it when you are in the steptime editor (ALT+MODE), select a time signature to work in and navigate to the part you want to ‘deep edit’ with > , then press MODE again to access the nitty gritty
@mauriziomauricone4 ай бұрын
@@RetrokitsDev Uhmm I was looking at the STEPTIME RECORDING section and there was no mentioning of the editor, but it is moved to the ADDENDUM Fw2.28 section at the very end of the manual (which BTW is still called v2.20 Feb 11th 2024, hense my confusion). Thanks for the reply! PS in the webserial interface it says Fw0.33??

I don't know. This is so formulaic. There must be a reason why Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk and Yello are still loved by many people from all ages.
@AnalogKitchen4 ай бұрын
That may be true and you're probably right but ask yourself this. Not everyone has the ability to understand what makes a track done and why some succeed where others fail. To have this as a starting point will strengthen your ability to finalise a concise idea and what you do from there is open
@markorichardson50094 ай бұрын
Is that a swing? If AK is using one i might grab it since Thomman stopped their deal on the keystep

True, they had one lying around at the music school so I grabbed it. I wouldn't purchase one because of what you've mentioned above

Personally I like adding long sub bass notes as well.
@AnalogKitchen4 ай бұрын
They can work. But try low string notes instead of bass. They’re as rich without syruping up your bottom end
