Great tour of the setup...and some great pieces of gear in there! I know thoseTyler Acoustics must have cost an arm and a leg to ship to the UK. Lol. Thanks for sharing.

I have the same LTD edition TK2. Lovely EQ, so smooth, very very useful.

As you explain exactly what the different equipment in your studio contributes to the recording, I am literally drooling all over my shirt!! would love to know your fees for mixing and mastering.😊🌈🎶🍀 Love from Norfolk, Virginia❤

Haha, it’s drool worthy gear for sure! Sure thing, you can drop me a message through my website, link in description. Look forward to hearing from you!

Very interesting. looking forward to seeing the cutting process. It would be really informative to hear something through the mastering signal path and how subtle changes and the order affects the result.

Out of interest, How close do sit from the Tyler Acoustics speakers and what do they recommend? I did buy some Duntech Princesses to fix and then use in my studio, but then everything suggested i need to sit several metres away as a minimum, which then is too far for my space ... Perhaps the official listening distance can be successfully ignored..? Duntech Princesses are similar in size and design to yours.

Very interesting! What is amp that you are using to power those speakers?
@raretonemastering2 ай бұрын
Thanks, it's an Emotiva amp, I didn't have any prior experience with them but the guy who built the speakers said that a lot of other users are using them to power their speakers so I went with it and it's doing a great job so far!

You may not want to answer, but I'm curious what percentage of your studio was purchased from money made by engineering versus other revenue streams?

Most of the gear has been traded up from less expensive gear over the course of 25 ish years. I’ve had a few pieces that I sold to buy one REALLY good one for example. I had my first cassette 4 track in 1995 then started a Music Tech course at college in ‘97 so ever since then I’ve been collecting recording and audio gear, buying, selling etc. I have used finance and credit cards at times when I’ve found an amazing deal on something. I have also worked lots of non music related full and part time jobs over the years so wages from those have helped buy gear too. Happy to answer any questions!
