It's interesting how Jonathan Steinbeck used and repeated the idea that Lennie is referred to as a bear throughout the novel

He was super strong in the movie. He squeezed a man's hand until blood was gushing out and the man was passing out because of the pain

Bears are animalistic like Lennie and because Bear can be dangerous without knowing it, they're often hunted down and killed with guns as a sacrifice just like Lennie in this text, lennie completely represents a bear in this text, feature wise as well, if you get too close too them as well they can panic and kill you, just like what happened with curley's wife

Just thought I'd tell those watching the video that the movie portrays Lennie a little differently from the book: - Lennie *did* attack Curley, but it originally came from obeying George's orders, and he'd done it out of fear. - In the book, Lennie feels bad for the dead puppy, but doesn't seem to show much emotion in the movie Hope this helps

I have not read the novel. I couldn’t watch the whole movie. I Would have watched it if Lennie had some game. I want a story with a happy ending with George and Lennie and the old man and curly’s wife living happily ever after

Why are you talking if you haven't read the book/watched the movie? If this novel ended where everyone is happy, then this wouldn't be a piece of art depicting how hard it was to live as a person who was disabled, born female or POC // born different in general. Steinbeck wrote this book to show how stupid it was to hate everyone because everyone's trying to make a living. edit : Lennie is disabled. He has a *mental* disability which makes him easily forget things. He is afraid of George because when he does something bad, that means he won't get to tend the rabbits anymore. He can't help it. edit #2 : Actually watch/read OMAM, then you might change your mind

Go read the book. He didn't kill the puppy or wife accidentally. And felt really badly about the puppy. He was always afraid of George and upsetting him. He is innocent and doesn't know right from wrong. Seriously, go read the novel or play. It's amazing and you'll learn from it and have a better understanding.
