Analysis on HEC's new policies | ایچ ای سی کی نئی پالیسیوں پر تجزیہ | HEC Policies

This video presents an in-depth analysis of HEC's new #hecpakistan policies. Of the two policies announced, one is related to major changes in all undergraduate degree programs, and the other is related to changes in policy related to PhD programs in all disciplines offered in Pakistani Universities.
These new policies of HEC (Pakistan) have been discussed and critically analyzed. This video is very, very important to watch till the end. If these two policies are implemented, it may bring irreparable damage to Pakistan's higher education system. HEC is asking to make admissions on a single merit list, teach 13 general courses in all undergraduate programs in the first three semesters, and then advise the students before starting the 4th semester on which program an individual should go. This is certainly against the fundamental rights of the individuals. Everyone has a right to choose his/her career path himself/herself.

There are many flaws in the new policies. The flaws that have also been identified are present in the existing and previous policies. Reforms should be made in Bottom to Top approach i.e. from schools, then colleges, and lastly at university levels. Currently, colleges are not producing quality students, due to cheating culture and other corruptions. Students coming to the universities are of absolutely poor quality, whatever the curriculum they are taught, the quality can’t be expected to improve because the quality at the entrance level is very very poor. Simple to say, Garbage-in, Garbage-out.

Absolutely right. This new policy is totally a failure. Seems that HEC needs policy makers who are really aware of matters related to students, jobs, universities, and industry needs. Universities must refuse to adopt this policy.

We are all helpless. I had faced the similar problem in my time in 1986. I sent my case to Wafaqi Mohtasib (ombudsman) at that time. Luckily I won my case.

Sister in pakistan Everybody wants experienced candidates who have practical experience in their particular decipline, but the truth is that you can't attain experience untill you get a job. And they don't hire fresh graduates because they don't give respect to their degrees as, they know that university education is worthless, they know that university is all about theory with no actual training of practical knowledge in ones particular field.
