Hoping for a better final?? Dude, Sinner is too good and clinical in his approach. There is always something Epic within the mundane, and that’s the play that makes it a dog walk. Looks easy but honestly, the discipline to make it look easy is what is Epic. Duration doesn’t mean it was Epic, but I think that’s what you were looking for.

Super proud of Jannik…for him to overcome all of the hurdles that were in his way coming into this tournament AND winning/defending the title (especially in a certain person’s homeland 🙂↔️) is an amazing achievement. Super professional, great character, and one helluva player.

What I always notice with Zverev in these finals is he more hopes the other player will lose instead of him winning. Thiem in that 2020 US Open Final plays HORRIFIC for 2 1/2 sets (I was one of the biggest Thiem fans back then) but once he held his nerve, he overcame Zverev. Carlitos in that 2024 French Open final was kind of all over the place the middle 2 sets but once he righted the ship he pulled away from Zverev the last two sets. Unless Sinner played horribly, I knew he was going to win comfortably. Unless he changes his mentality, Zverev will not win a Slam it’ll come down to the other opponent, losing more than him winning. Just my take.
@707ladytee2 күн бұрын
You have a point! I never thought of that. Yes, Zverev will need to change is thinking if this is the case.
@jehaustinКүн бұрын
@ what doesn’t help his cause is the fact that that forehand of his doesn’t really give him a chance to be aggressive. It’s a very reactive forehand a healthy Novak Djokovic, a consistent Carlos Alcaraz and Sinner can pounce on that.

I told you so! How can you ever doubt Sinner? We Italians are the best!
@haiderraja45333 күн бұрын
The conditions suited Sinner more as i mentioned in my previous comments but Zverev not having a single break point was disappointing. Zverev cant do much with forehand in clutch moments consistently, i think the clear big three now are Sinner, Alcarez and Djokovic (if healthy).

I’d say there never was a big three to begin with. It was and is just the big 2, because sinner and alcaraz can’t be put on the same tier as zverev. I believe he does have the level to compete, but the clutchness and mental toughness the other two bring to the table are surreal, especially in big moments. Zverev is definitely the closest third though, followed by Djokovic.

Hi Stephen, thank you for your great show. I though Sinner would have won but I was expecting a much closer match... So I think your prediction did make sense. However, I think we both underestimated his relatively recently achieved ability to raise to the occasion. With this mindset he could even have a better season than last year.

Too many unforced errors and bad nerves from Zverev. Almost no backhand winners. Zverev kept his worst level for the final and Sinner didn't even play at his best.
@pauljohnson60192 күн бұрын
Sinner didn't have to play his A+ game, a 60% B- game, was enough to beat Zverev's top level, he wasn't given the chance, to play at his best.
@Sebastienleblanc72 күн бұрын
@ that was very far away from Zverevs top level. If Sinner wouldn't have gotten lucky in the second set tiebreak with a netzroller and his ball that barely scratched the line at 4:4 the momentum could have changed and the longer the match would have went the higher Zverevs chances would have been. But loosing the second set unlucky decided the match and Sinner could play with a 2 set lead whitout pressure.

You are a tennis expert and yet you picked Zverev to win, that is insane. Sinner is on another level. Do you really think Zverev can win a slam this year? That is highly unlikely. Sinner will take them all unless Alcaraz manages to win on gras and clay. Zverev is not fast enough either and you see the talent of Sinner is extremely much bigger now. It is all clear to be that Sinner has had huge success with Cahill the last years. He is confident as hell as well.

My problem with Sinner is that he uses dope. I don't need a prove for it. He went from being an average top 10 player( played only 1 semi final of GS) in 2023 to being unbeatable in 2024.In the same time he tested positive. Something is off. Everyone who follow Jannik since 2019 when he won Next Gen knows how he got the same power and speed; he slowly improved consistency especially on forehand, serve and of course mental toughness. He could have won two slams in 2022, when he was 2-0 on Novak in Wimbledon and when he got match point against Carlos in US Open, but he choked in both matches. To gain his toughness on crucial points is something you don't get with clostebol

King of Australia? What is the basis of this title? If Rafa is king of RG for 14 titles? Wouldn't the king of Australia logically have multiple titles, too? I respect and appreciate Jannick, he has earned his trophies, however; he is still new and has a very long way to go before earning legendary platforms. Right now, he is current, and longevity hasn't reared its head as of yet. That will take time and hard earned work, not popularity. Congratulations to him for another slam 🎉🎉

Only if you are a 2008/10/13 Nadal ,you could pull it off but even he was super agressive with such an elite defense. Zverev just needs another coach ,thats clear now. Even Federer told us a few weeks ago,being passive doesnt win slams,noone will give you a slam,you have to earn it . Earn it as Cilic did,as Wawrinka did,full offense .
