Dont understand why you call such trainee tax consultants, who doesn't have clear understanding. Taxes are based on the regime that individual chooses to file in. If someone is making 13.5 Lakhs, and chooses new regime, he will be paying tax on the amount that is over 12.75L, if the individual chooses, old regime; slab wise tax will be applied. Its so simple to understand.
