I think most people don't give enough value to presenting a good slide, thinking that's only for consultants. But the truth is, we are 'consultants' to others on the domain of expertise wherever we are in. And that's the crux - very often technical people are so good at what they are doing that they forget that everyone else isn't. And the purpose of presentations is to help others understand what you are trying to tell them. Sadly many can't.

Watched, liked, subscribed and already becoming a fan. From time to time, it's good to rethink our way to work, remember the basics and refresh the key principle that "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication" (but for sure it takes a lot to be achieved :)). Thanks for these insightful videos!

Really great video. Thanks for making this content. Will help me a lot when making a slide deck tomorrow. Any suggestions on best place to find icons?
@AnalystAcademy2 жыл бұрын
You can get good icons within PowerPoint actually. Otherwise thenounproject.com is a good place.

On the last slide about electricity, China should be on the beginning of the slide. The principle moving from top to down and vice versa, this principle works for charts, for example slide about Top 3 luxury brands. I understood why they highlited China with green rectangle, but it's not smooth to look at this chart. Great job! Thanks a lot!
@AnalystAcademy3 жыл бұрын
Do you mean putting China in the title or as the first column of the table? If it's the latter, I agree that the ordering feels a bit random. I don't think it's as important as the ordering of columns in a column chart (as in the example you mentioned), but I can't say I disagree with you. Nice catch!

Really insightful video! I appreciate the quality content that this channel offers, pls continue posting! Especially the final thoughts, we should always view slide creation from the reader’s perspective Quick question , are there any recommended situations on when I should insert icons? Because my concern is that the icons might clutter the slide when used inappropriately
@AnalystAcademy3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Glad you are enjoying the content. I can't say there's a hard and fast rule for when to use icons or not, but I agree that they can sometimes make the slide too cluttered. I would just avoid using them too often (e.g. every slide), and I would also avoid them on slides that already have too many other non-text visuals (e.g. charts, graphics). They work great for text heavy slides like in the video (06:55) because they help visualize something that is inherently non visual.
