Suppose I refresh the dashboard at the local path only generally, but now if I want to shift to schedule refresh, how do i do the same? I have multiple input (excel)files coming into the Power BI report. Should I then have to set schedule refresh for each of these excel files in the workspace?

Schedule refresh is per dataset. Dataset can be a combination of multiple files or tables

With a scheduled refresh, the dataset is refreshed automatically but the report is not refreshed. I cannot see the any changes int the dashboard . What would be the reason?

Yes. Reports read data from dataset.

I am using stored procedure with start date and end date parameter.. End date is current date and from date is 7 days from current date... by import query i built report . I want to schedule data refresh with dynamic parameter ..can I do it?

Sir what if i changed my source path of file in pbix file, ie (dev to prod), so i have to republish it to service or by changing datasource connection in gateway with schedule refresh can work for me.

Hi Sir, I an getting the error while I am refreshing the dataset on powerBi service. Here is the error. Data source errorScheduled refresh is disabled because at least one data source is missing credentials. To start the refresh again, go to this dataset's settings page and enter credentials for all data sources. Then reactivate scheduled refresh. Since I don't have access to set up gateway at organization's level, what should I ask the administrator to do?

As per them they have set up the gateway for me however still getting this error. (Dataset credential option is disabled at my end) also when I open dataset settings, Gateway Connection section is showing as "To use a data gateway, make sure the computer is online and the data source is added in Manage Gateways. If you're using an On-premises data gateway (standard mode), please select the corresponding data sources and then click apply. Use an On-premises or VNet data gateway"

Great video. So I tried to refresh after setting up my gateway, but it returns an error saying access denied. Technically, I can't seem to access the excel database that sits on my company's network shared folder. Am I doing anything wrong or do I need a Pro license before I can refresh to pick new updates?

Hi Nags, I have an excel file in SharePoint which is used as a data source for my dashboard . There are 2 problems . 1. Currently the scheduled refresh stopped working after I recently changed my windows password . 2. This source file is now around 70MB and I don’t want to refresh full rather I only wanted to do incremental while the rest of the data should be within powerbi how do I do this

Hi Sir, Does schedule refresh change only data or visuals also. Suppose I added new visual in my PBI Desktop and I want to reflect it in the PBI Service, can I achieve it using schedule refresh or do I need to re-publish the report. Please suggest.

Schedule refresh is only for data. Any structural changes required redeploy

can we refresh for every 5 or 10 minutes ? as real time data changes frequently.

You need to understand, how can we help on things that we never worked before. If we have to try this, which will take at least couple hours. As we don't have account in kobotool as well. I already gave you the idea, so search in internet how to schedule refreh the web based api connectors in power bi.
