Anamorfake Contax Zeiss 28/2.8 - Anamorphic Lens Look!

Considering the high price of the professional anamorphic lenses, or the "economic" alternative of projection lenses that are more than problematic to use, anamorfake lenses are fantastic to any indie production.

Hi Tito and thanks for all the content you make. I have a question, what would you say are the best alternatives for a wide angle anamorphic look? I really like the wide angle look and using them as I feel like the shoots are 'as I saw them' if that makes sense. However with many anamorphics, they require longer focal lengths due limiting factors. So in your experience, which setups will allow you to go as wide as possible while still being practical to use and won't cost a kidney? Or is that something that I'm just gonne have to come to terms with, the wider I want to get the more I will generally have to pay? Thanks again for taking the time.

Is it possible to make 35mm lens have oval bokeh WITHOUT putting a oval inset at the aperture??? because I wanna modify my SONY ZEISS 35MM F2.8, but I don't wanna risk to open it

I like this mod just as much as I enjoy cheating. I guess we apply flare in AE or maybe use a sharpie or string across the oval. Thanks Titz

btw, I wonder if it would not be easier to tape the oval orifice on the adapter glass? (e.g. on sony to contax mount adapter)

@@AnamorphicOnABudget Love the vid! Quick question, when you close the aputure down so it's smaller than the oval insert, does it still oval bokeh? Or do you notice it getting less anamorphic looking the less wide open you are?

the glue will destroy the coating of the lens? All lenses are coated as far as I know.

@@AnamorphicOnABudget many chemicals are really aggressive when they are exposed for longer to a material. Painters tape: leave it on a surface for oo long and you wil lhave hard time getting it off.

I don't understand the appeal. The reason I want anamorphic is to maximize image resolution with a squeezed image. Why would you mimic the defects or byproducts of anamorphic lenses without any of the benefits?

You’re rare. Most people also want it for the oval bokeh. It’s a desired look that most people find pleasing
