I rewatched Anand with my daughters (both in their 20s). They loved every moment of it as did I, which is distinctly 2 generations feeling every pulse together at the same time. I think more than them, I realised that not a beat felt out of place or aged. Every scene is as relevant as it ever was.

Nd this particular episode makes me feel that ur talks abt any movie in general on the show are less inclusive of the interesting background stories that happen during a movie or which lead to a movie..those are actually aspects of any movie that .i feel. Wud make the podcast more wholesome.honestly Kyuki kv is playing that part in this particular episode. nd it feels so much well rounded. Good to see that change as well. 25:49 Slight correction: Mr. Bachchan used to live with Mehmood Saahab at the start of his career. He knew about this scene. He was worried and since the films were not working he asked Mehmood saahab about how to do the scene. He told him, "Soch Rajesh Khanna Mar gya." Then on the final day. So, he did all the preparation, didn't eat and was brooding for whole day. Hrishi da saw him with all his preparation. He didn't want all that. He kept him waiting and then when the scene was started Mr. Bachchan went crazy full volcano mode. Then Rishi da let him do it his way but later told him Omit, (that's what he called mr. Bachchan) talent performance is not needed. You've to just do it. Then they just took the shot Mr. Bachchan laughing as he told him that your body would look the same way. Then Amitabh lost his role in Guddi (The Jaya Bhaduri's love interest) due to his newfound fame with Anand. After this Hrishi da almost gifted them Abhimaan. Kishore Da reference: When Kishore da got to know that Abhiman was loosely based on his life he didn't record for the rest of the songs and we get other songs in the voice of Manhar Udhas.

I saw the podcast followed by the movie. KV is right about the technical shooting of the movie being its only drawback. Else the film is just perfect, no changes necessary for re-release in theatres.

I also felt Urjita was little annoying not having much idea of what the content of discussion is. Of course she know we were discussing Anand, however, she didn’t have many things to add, and hence, was just bringing distracting trivia and references. However, I also feel like she is the representative of a new generation kids. Here I am not stereotyping all GenZs. But a lot of the people from this generation might not see the movie in the same way that we do, and we don’t feel the same way that our parents do or the people from 60s or 70s. Like KV said, she will have some phases in her life where she can feel the movie and the songs and may be she understands the references. So, in some way, in this podcast, we are looking at the perspective of two generations.

May be you people didn’t grow up watching Hrishikesh Mukherjee movies but lot of Indians from tier 2 and 3 city did. As we exposed to Doordarshan jab Sunday ko dopahar mein movies aati thi. Chupke chupke ,masoom, sadma, mili, guddi, namak haram, golmal, ek choti si baat, baaton baton mein, khoobsoorat, etc. Abbas kaun sa channel dekh rahe the tum, ho to 80’s k he born. Itna fake elitism dikhaane ki kya zarurat hai
