ABOUT SWAMI KRIYANANDA
In 1948 at the age of twenty-two, Swami Kriyananda (J. Donald Walters) became a disciple of the Indian yoga master, Paramhansa Yogananda. Yogananda is best known for his spiritual classic, *Autobiography of a Yogi*.
At Yogananda’s request, Swami Kriyananda devoted his life to lecturing and writing, helping others to experience the living presence of God within. He taught on four continents in seven languages over the course of 65 years. His talks, his music, and his many books have touched the lives of millions. An advocate of simple living and high thinking, his more than 150 books emphasize the need to live wisely by one’s own experience of life, and not by abstract theories or dogmas. A composer since 1964, Walters has written over 400 musical works. His music is inspiring, soothing, and uplifting.
He taught meditation to thousands and has initiated many into the life changing technique of Kriya Yoga. His books and teachings on spiritualizing nearly every field of human endeavor include business life, leadership, education, the arts, community, and science. He wrote extensive commentaries on the Bible and the Bhagavad Gita, both based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. He is known as the “father of the intentional communities movement,” which began in the United States in the late 1960s, fulfilling Yogananda's dream.
He founded the first of what are now 10 Ananda communities worldwide in 1967 near Nevada City, California. Other Ananda communities have developed over the years to include Ananda Palo Alto, Ananda Sacramento, Ananda Portland, Ananda Seattle, Ananda Los Angeles, Ananda Assisi in Italy, and Ananda India near Delhi and Pune. Each community has a spiritual focus (a teaching center and temple) and a community (homes where members live). More than 1,000 people live in these intentional spiritual communities. Swami Kriyananda’s example of inspired leadership was the reason for Ananda’s success. He uplifted and encouraged people through personal example, spiritual counseling, writing, lecturing, music, and prayer. He trained the current Ananda leaders in much the same way: free from egoic motivation, always placing the spiritual needs of others foremost in all decisions. He was a patient and sensitive teacher, allowing people to learn by experience, and never placing institutional needs ahead of the needs of an individual. “People are more important than things” is one of the foremost guiding principles of Ananda. And “Where there is adherence to dharma [right action], there is victory,” is another.

How do you expect to deserve a diploma without following classes, doing tests, a lot of reading and some mistakes here and there? When a mother or a father raises a child, should they preserve him/her from all life's issues or give him/her the chances to grow wiser on his/her own feet? Enlightenment comes from experience. I have seen your videos and you are very logical guru and the way you explain things is very logical and very good. But I want to say something from my idea that we actually never die and I don't think death exist. Actually we are a intelligent energy and we go back to cosmos the cosmos is full of this kind of energy's it keeps on taking birth and again face the death which is not for the energy but for those who don't have any idea what is after life. There are billions of stars, planets. And variety of airs in and unknown rays and atoms then how not it possible that we don't born somewhere in the different planet again as a new born baby which can be possible I think there is chances that we keep on doing rebirth forever there is no end for it just like the space doesn't have any end or start. Actually the soul or energy which is living thing has no end of it it is actually immortal.

What is death, to ask about, life after death? Death is as equal to birth. Birth is coming out of a womb. Death is coming out of body. Life of us is made very simple, you have come out womb with life, so you are among people, the house. If you don't come out of body with LIFE(Jesus), you will not be in the House. In the modern world if a father abandons his children he is labeled a bad father, but when our God father does not show himself to his children , it’s not to be questioned because God is a perfect consciousness and not to be questioned, But, I say why not? Must we wait to see God only when we die? Why? We love our father, we want to hold him in our arms now while we are alive, even if it’s only for a second! Am I being too naive?

For me , it makes a lot of difference. Religion has no answers, science is baffled, our parents have no clue. So, I keep searching, reading, listening, but find no answers! Finally, I say am I just a fool? But, than I ask, why must everything be such a mystery? To whose purpose does that serve?

My friend that is not an accurate analogy. God is not our father. God is more like like substrate from which all things can emerge. “We are god giving itself an enema”. That’s a better analogy. Thus- all you have to do is look around to see God. God provides for the miracle of small existance. Think about that- why should there be anything? That’s the great miracle. From that starting point - you can become attuned to higher and purer energies. As you do so you gain magnetism, and your life purpose grows. And as this inspiration grows you will find that very interesting events and synchronicities will start to happen. These are the signs that you are being supported in your life. And that you are serving your role. God is a pool meant to be swam in, and felt directly through energy. -Blessings

QUESTION: Why create beings in a state of ignorance in the first place and then expect them to scale their ignorance in order to achieve some state we call enlightenment? It's almost like a child who builds little obstacles for ants to figure out how to circumvent. It would seem more likely that 'God' is him/herself in a state of relative ignorance and is attempting to know more/experience more via the phenomena of material existence?

swami kriyananda has explained this - according to him - god is bliss and he wanted to share this bliss, so there was vibrations and creation (The word, holy ghost, OM, Amen). and god also warned first man and women - adam and eve not to eat forbidden fruit, so that they can live in god consciousness and enjoy the bliss, but they got hypnotized through serpent and did a mistake. and god cursed the serpent to eat mud - this serpent is kundalini, we are under the hypnosis of kundalini. moses lifted this kundalini - and jesus christ said - "as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole (spine) in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up"

Everything is duality...darkness-light, sad-happy, ignorance-knowledge etc ...so there is ignorance but we have to make the attempt to move towards knowledge or even higher is enlightenment....now you may ask again why have this duality...yes indeed, why have sadness when happiness is much better?but if there is no sadness, we will not appreciate what happiness is..so duality is important for us to appreciate the various states

But the counter to that is that if we never know sadness (for example), et cetera, then what's the need for it? I'd just as soon live in a state of perfect, perpetual bliss, being totally ignorant of/unaffected by sadness...darkness, hate, ignorance, blah blah blah...just sayin'..."enlightenment should be a 'given'... My basic question goes unanswered... Why create a being in such a confused state? To me, it indicates the possibility that there is, in fact, no 'God' at all, just the transmorphic physics of creation/existence...

@@zenmeister451 we just slipped into that state...there are highly evolved yogis right from a young age..it's because of the fact that these souls had been practicing some spiritual practices in their past lives..I understand that you are a skeptic..I was one too...I have had many experiences which cannot be explained by science alone..I would urge u to read books like Autobiography of a Yogi by paramhansa yogananda for starters...with an open mind.... Hinduism actively encourages questions and critical thinking...the fact that you are actively seeking answers for your questions, which means you are already a seeker on the path..I wish you luck..
