What is great about listening to stories of Anansi is that wisdom always come from hard lessons.

The original tale is quite different. it goes like this. After gathering all the wisdom in the world Ananse guarded the pot so close to his bosom and begun to climb to Nyame, but he kept on falling because the pot obstructed him from grabbing the tree firmly. Meanwhile his little son who hid behind a shrub all this time begun to laugh at his father as he failed to climb the tree. This little boy then approached his father and showed him a clever way to climb the tree with the pot tied to his back. Ananse then took the pot and smashed it into pieces because he had just realized gathering all the wisdom in world was impossible. Despite all his effort in gathering every wisdom into his pot he failed gather that of his own child.

this tale could be intrepreted in many ways. My interpretation is seeking higher knowledge always while retaining your humility. its like once anansi discovered so much, he thought he knew everything, he had a new experience that opened up another world of knowledge. If he truly did know everything he would have known not to fall. Go out there and get new experiences, a new world of knowledge and understanding awaits but remain humble. thanks for sharing.
