0:12 In some cultures, they blow that instrument during funeral activities. So it is strange to see Sri Lanka use it as welcome greetings. The view and surrounding is awesome man. Are you also visiting Sigiriya? My dream bucket list. Not sure if drones are allowed but it would be an epic aerial video if allowed. And what camera did you use to take these shots? Its so clear.

Great to hear from you again! Interesting point about the instrument, never knew that! The hotel guys said this was their rendition of the Sri Lankan royal welcome from hundreds of years ago. It was an amazing stay. Will visit Sigiriya and the rest of the north on my next trip to Sri Lanka. I've read that drones are prohibited on site at Sigiriya and most other major historical monuments after a series of drone crashes on these monuments, but I think you can take off elsewhere nearby and do a pan shot of the site (many other videos feature these locations, I'm sure there are ways to). I used a Nikon Coolpix P950 (bridge camera) for wildlife and scenery photos. For videos, it was a combo of the P950, Insta360 One X3 and my phone (Xiaomi Mi 11 😂) for a quick and convenient draw.
