Kyaa kahein,Javed Ali ji ki tareef mein, lafz hi nahin bayan karne ke liye, itnaa piyaara gaaya ki mann kar raha tha sunte hi rahein,jaisa ki unhone bhi loop par suna, lagataar, do din ke liye, is gaane ko, zaahir hai bahut hi unda hoga! My sincerest appreciation for Javed Ali Sahab, for such an endearing rendition and performance! The musicians were awesome, played beautifully, solo violin was heart touching, an enthralling piece of music! Javed Ali is one of the finest singers we've seen in recent times. Very underrated though. Maybe bcoz of his humility. He's recaptured the entire beauty of this masterpiece - a hidden gem really - in earnest and done full justice. Especially at 3:32-34 which is Rafi sahab's signature 'harkat', Javed's done exceedingly well to replicate it. Hats off Javed Ali. We wish to hear you more. The current 'mockery' of music needs a respite which you can and SHOULD provide with your high quality singing.

This is the song Rafi wanted to be played at the time of his final journey to the grave. And it was indeed played by Madan Mohan's son! With the longest prelude, 1 min. 16 seconds, it's the quintessence of antique Stradivarius violin played by three stalwarts, Kunwar Mahendra Pratap Singh of Jhansi royal family, Muhammad Amin of Calcutta radio and Rais Aalam of London School of Instrumental music. The song was to be filmed on Rafi's best friend Uttam Kumar but the film had to be shelved due to inadequate funds. Song was recorded on July 26, 1962 and the proposed name of the unreleased movie was 'Kaise kategi zindagi'. Rafi was extremely disturbed by Uttam Kumar's death on July 24, 1980. As luck would have it, he passed away a week after his best friend's demise on July 31, 1980. Both died when the watches showed 10.10, a universal symbol of watches always showing 10.10 when needles are placed in the shape of a smile! Both the stalwarts always smiled and spoke very little in life. Enjoy listening to this eternal song

What a Splendid Performance by the versatile Javed Sir. Javed Sir is one of my favourites. As usual, he has wrecked havoc with this lesser heard Ghazals. Beautifully sung. Though, Voice of God is beyond comparison and shall always stand as Numero Uno but ever since Rafi Saheb left us on 31st July, 1980, the worst and blackest day in Indian Music Industry, someone has to take forward his legacy. All of them brilliant.
