Why do so many of us assume that children with precocious talent are always being forced by their parents or abused in some way? This child appears to be enjoying herself and, why not? Dancing is an inherently enjoyable thing. That is why human beings the world over engage in it! No parent should try to force children to do things that are harmful to them or developmentally beyond their reach but there is nothing wrong with encouraging discipline and excellence in children of talent. If this child were not capable of this intricate form of dance she simply wouldn't be able to do it. I hope she continues to develop her talent. The fact that most of us are merely average in most things does not mean that the exceptional among us should be forced to adhere to our notions of "normalcy" or held back to a pace that we would find comfortable. People of exceptional talent should be allowed to cultivate it as it would be abusive to them not to let them flourish. God bless this little one indeed!
