maybe when hunting a cheater, kill your own character and then spectate if the cheater randomly walks up to your body without knowing that your dead body is actually invisible

As a long time Dayz player on xbox, watching all of your cheater vids, and watching thousands of Dayz vids content creators on YT(I don't watch tv or movies for the most part lol) this was BY FAR the best one. I love pausing the vids just to read side/discord chat(for the side stories lol), seeing you as a player trolling a cheater in-game and in-chat and acting as yourself as an admin... Brother, that is by far the best cheater vid EVER!!! I was so entertained. Please do more like this sir! Also a shout out to Lt. @@DjinnsĘnigma Maybe my brain is just blocking out all the bad, but I remember enjoying building up and fostering a small community from 0 players to two public servers and a couple server's worth of regulars, plus all the randoms, back when I was doing my Counter-Strike servers waaaay before GO was even being developed. Back then if you wanted a feature on your server (and it was something you could get) it was most likely a standalone thing that had the possibility of breaking something else you had running, although not always. Wanted stats? Pick a stats platform and install the plugin, there was no universal stats system for the game. Anywho, tl;dr it's been a long time since I've done server admining, I really enjoyed it when I did it, and I kind of want to do it again~

Is there a moderator tool that draws a line of the player"s aim? That would be super useful for observing "snapping" or "tracking" behavior without having to wait for them to shoot. Great content, keep it up!

Maybe for vanilla but not for anything modded. Too many variables to consider once mods are added.

Yeah there's nothing like that currently, it's easier to tell in-game what direction people are looking. And also dayz doesn't handle lag super well, so what looks like snapping could just be lag. It could be useful for seeing if someone is pointing directly at you, though VPP admin tools has a spectate option which actually follows their aim in a way you can tell what they're looking at. But again, it probably would take help with snapping due to how the net code somewhat poorly handles how other players see your character. It only updates so often, if that makes sense. Nowhere near as clean as something like Rust.

@@odakyuodakyu6650 Basically the client software has to know a lot of info about where all entities are relative to the Player, so a modified client, (or a client inter-poser/proxy) can provide markers for other players as an overlay on the screen. THIS IS TRUE EVEN IF ALL INTERACTIONS ARE RESOLVED ON THE SERVER. Ultimately this kind of cheat is difficult or impossible to catch client side without the kind of work AnarchyHD and other admins do. They have to show that a DirtyCheato has information not available in the unmodified client. Anti-cheat software can be invoked client side to verify. It is simply not practical to scan every player's client software all the time for cheat mods. So server admins have to document apparent cheating (as this video does) and then pass it to the game devs for account bans, and I'm sure the devs do the client environment scan for hacks. All of that is linked back to accounts with traceable billing info. So ultimately these players are traceable through many vectors. They are too stupid to realize that once they get a ban, they are on everyone's radar very quickly. Historically, if a player uses information they should not have it causes their activity logs on the server to contain information that over time makes them look sus. From there a watchlist is formed and Admins can spectate to see. But silent bans without public information are bad, and showing videos of catching Cheatos can be bad because it can help Cheaters change how they use exploits to evade detection. Military Intelligence uses a lot of the same kinds of data analysis to detect when an enemy has begun exploiting an intelligence leak... etc
