Yes, an incredible voice, indeed. He reminds me rather of Giuseppe di Stefano than of Pavarotti. He has not not become that famous in the western world, as he would sing nearly exclusively in Ukraine and just for one year at the Met. I am also enthusiastic of Neapolitan songs, but it is time to become aware and to appreciate great Ukrainian songs, which provide Anatoly Solovyanenko with the opportunity to show his exceptional mastership in full. I am grateful to this channel for including also a number of those songs. I recommend them to all of you, who just know his international/western repertoire: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3-wo4CMqJafp9E&ab_channel=AnatolySolovyanenko - or just go to the content of the channel. I have asked the administration of the Public libraries of Vienna, my hometown, to acquire samples of outstanding Ukrainian artists, like M. Lysenko, D. Bortnyanski, A. Solovyanenko, B. Gmyra, K. Cisyk and of the great Ukrainian choral folkloric tradition. They confirmed that they are currently building up a stock, but unfortunately no CDs of the singers can be obtained.

Com'on! This guy should have a household name among the world's opera lovers! What creepy NYC or London agent kept the lid on him to protect their client.
