Very good video. I injured my L5 nerve but I still have some function, such as I don't have a trendelenburg gait, can abduct my hip no problem, can evert my foot, can plantar flex my foot, can extend toes 2-5, can abduct the foot, can medially and laterally rotate hip. However I have some loss of sensation on the lateral side of my lower leg and some loss of sensation on the dorsal part of the foot by toe 2-4. I also have SOME trouble with dorsiflexion of my foot and extending my big toe. I also have SOME trouble with my harmstring mucsles which is esp. felt if I take 2 steps up the staircase - I dont have enough power in my harmstring muscles to lift that leg up going two steps up. I was lucky that my L5 nerve was not completely cut off but that there is SOME injury to this nerve.

@@sunny4lady Unfortunately my PCP is not very helpful. Will a microdisctomy by a spine doctor be helpful in my case? THANKS!

@@andyl9900 I never had a compressed nerve. Mine was severed, and 3 years later it has really begun to heal and I have more function in the affected muscles. So I am sorry, I dont know much about compressed nerves.
