I noticed that oxytocin is in the Posterior Pituitary gland and Prolactin is in the Anterior Pituitary gland. It's interesting that in order for a mom to make and then release milk for her baby it takes both sides of the Pituitary Gland. I wonder if that has anything to do with moms' sometimes having trouble with their milk. Sometimes I would make SO much milk but it would get stuck. I also had some PPA and PPD. Oxytocin is a "happy" hormone, right? Just an interesting thing to me that I wanted to share.
