@Myloloy I agree that she should be taken into account for her actions, but this situation isn't black and white. It would also be good to question the sheriff on why he chose to ignore the plan that was prepared to deal with those kinds of situations. He's already under suspicion of taking bribes because he was intent on rushing the demolition. The court order doesn't give a particular time, only a date, which means that there was no problem on following the mayor's request.

@pingpinglhuillier i get your point, but all the mayor was asking to the sheriff was a peaceful demolition. The city gov't was already working for a restraining order, however the court was still closed that is why she asked the sheriff to postpone it for 2 hours. They had an agreement, they had a meeting before the demolition day. The sheriff should have told the mayor that he was not amenable to the agreements so that she could have set her schedules.

@jaypeerizza the extension of two hours was for the mayor to get to the scene of the demolition. She was very busy helping and condoning the victims of the flood which is why the extension of two hours was pleaded by the mayor. She needs to oversee the demolition to avoid any riot that may occure. Yep duty is above all but then again if doing your duty on time will entail more violence and bloodshed, will you be so kind to postpone it for just 2 hours? :)

Sheriff- legal instigator of the court. It's not a matter of whether what she did was right or wrong, but whether if her actions were within reason or not. Yes, what she did may not be right, but it will always be justifiable. She wanted to supervise the whole demolition to ensure the public's safety, even the sheriff during their previous meeting agreed that before the demolition starts, Mayor Sara must be present. But did he comply? NO. His action even resulted in a riot & several injuries. PLUS, consider Davao's current condition.

Poh! di namn ako taga davao.. pero very clear poh! sabi ng mayor maghintay muna para walang masaktan kahit order pa ng court eh dapat poh! mag bigayan tyu pra maayos ang lahat at bilang isang mayor humingi ng 2hrs pra ayusin sa tamah pra walang gulo.. kaso yung sheriff di nakinig or baka di umabot yung minsahe ni mayor.. ang concern dito sa madaming tao kesa sa iisang sheriff lang ang masasaktan. :]

To those who dislikes our Beloved mayor, eat your hearts out..........running and taking care a city is not an easy job, disaster struck our city from flash floods, and as you can see our beloved mayor was there for us, hands on, you can tell the sincerity that she have towards the people of Davao.......hindi plastikan tulad ng ibang politiko, kung makita nyo si Mayor Sarah on the job, sigurado magbabago ang mga negative thoughts nyo..........

@josephmanilaguy that's true, but she was standing up for the rights of the people who were being evicted. There was a game plan which ensured a peaceful demolition and, for reasons unknown, the sheriff decided to ignore it. I agree that she shouldn't have punched the guy, but the sheriff should also be held accountable for putting the lives of people (women and children included) in danger.
