I think we are deluding ourselves if we think we can depend on other countries to solve our own problems. First, not only our economy and military forces are no way near China, but Filipinos are not even united politically and there's no strong leadership in the helm except politicians who are only looking after their own self-interests and media who will follow where the money lies. Second, let's just look at history. This will already tell us what our nature is and the nature of what these so-called countries whom we are in alliance with are. We can see in the past that every country now is to each its own (i.e. During CoVid and need for vaccines) and they will only literally help if there's benefits for them or they have interests that can be affected. Filipinos never learn. One gleaming example is voting a President who is from the very clan we kicked out in 1986. We swallowed back what we already spit out. As Einstein said, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." And, now we expect better? Third, we don't have core political values, they are all dependent on personalities. We can already see how our politicians operate. During elections, BBM's camp and Yellow or Pink Camp are against each other, yet, the principles of what is right they spew out during the campaign only exists during election. At the end, it is all about self-interest. Yet, Filipinos, still believe in them. So, what chance do we have if we get into war with a country who is not only a super power but with citizens who are nationalistic and united? Thus, we need to be real. Let's work first towards strengthening our country and, fine...backdown first. So, what? Because of misplaced Filipino pride? Is it more important than protecting the lives of Filipinos? Who will be the sacrificial lambs here, isn't it again the ordinary Filipino citizens and regular soldiers? All these politicians, rich people and generals will not even be near the actual fight. If they are so into it, let them be the one to actually fight during the battle. I highly doubt if BBM will do the same thing as the President of Ukraine did and stayed with his military and people. Let's stop this foolish propaganda of fighting against China and if you are against it, you are Pro China. I am Pro Filipino, period! "But he gives more grace. No to War. As Former President Duterte says back then, Diplomatic Negotiation is the only Win-win solution on the disputed Scarborough Shoal, because China, claims it too and they believe it was theirs, their bases is their 9 dash line. But ofcourse everyone knows this, and in fact even in the International Ruling Philippines won the claim Philippines owns the said Islands. BUT THE BIG BUT THERE IS THAT, they do not ACKNOWLEDGE THE RESULT OF THE RULING -that West Philippine sea belongs to Philippines coz it is still on EEZ of PH for they insist it's theirs because of that 9 dash line they're saying that is inherited to them. The PROBLEM there is that between Ch and Ph claims, China was already in the POSITION (NASA ISLA NA SILA, NAKA PAG TAYO NA NG MGA STRUKTURA) since 2012 panahon pa ng kanyang predecessor Former President Aquino. May mga naka tayo ng structure doon ang China. KAYA ANG HIRAP NA. And in an interview of President Duterte back then, he choses peace over War. Dahil in reality, hindi kaya ng Pinas labanan ang isa sa 1st world country. At mas importante sa kanya ang buhay ng mamamayan at civilian.. If war escalates the rich people can fly abroad and be safe.. Pero ang mahihirap maiiwan sa Pinas.. Hindi madali ang gyera. Kahit paslit na bata pwedeng matamaan ng bala at ma damay. NO TO WAR. Go back to diplomatic negotiation.. Were the fishermen could still fish there without being harrased and that we can still have a share of the disputed Islands. Ch is in aggression now because on a report, the present administration is not following the previous gentlemens agreement on the disputed Islands and at ang administrasyon ngayon ay nakikipag alyansa sa US.
