I had harsh comments before about PBBM being silent about POGO’s, but I apologize now that he does listen to the pulse of the masses and took a stand in the banning of POGO’s. I clapped silently after hearing that proclamation at almost the end of his speech. Now it’s in the hands of the authorities to actually clamp them down.

The parents must participate in the teachings of their children. What happened to the subject of Good Manners and Right Conduct? Does it still exist in the curriculum in the elementary?Another thing that the new Secretary of Education Senator Angara should do is to return back the dialects of each province as the medium of instruction in Grade 1 and 2. It’s sad to say that the kids in the provinces are talking to you in Tagalog instead of your own dialect. The children must not abandon their own dialects in everyday conversation. When I visited my town some people talked to me in Tagalog, I find it awful because we were both Ilokanos. I don’t know about you guys but I’m proud being a GI ( genuine Ilokano) from Ilocos Norte.
