Ogun is a oricha in both cadomblé and Umbanda, religions that were born from the african diasphora in Brazil. Of course, the orichas are present way before that and in different cultures, but that is where I know them from, the Yoruba culture in west africa. My family is so mixws that I have no Idea where I came from, but I remember both my grandfather and aunt channeling spirits in religious rituals, they both passed way, but the way the show depicted the spirit realm and Ogun made me feel somewhat sentimental... very well done!

I gotta say, it really helped me like Erzsebet more in this when I found out that she’s based on a real historical serial killer, just like Dracula is. She’s still maybe the most forgettable part of this whole show, which is a bummer. The amount of sauce they dumped on the fights in this show could keep all of Kansas City set up for barbecue for a decade

Well, “real.” The actual Erzsebet Bathory might’ve been framed in a political coup, historians aren’t really sure. That’s in contrast to Vlad Tepes, who was a certified insane mass murdering monster in real life, no ifs ands or buts.

@@KXdareK nah it’s solid, the only big difference between this show and the previous Castlevania is that the big bad is kind of forgettable, and the Belmont in this show is probably the weakest character in the show. The plot is solid, though, and besides Trevor and Erzsebet the rest of the characters are very good and engaging.

Alucard got subtle but still really good character development. He's experienced 9 generations of Belmonts. He considers them family. But he tells Juste "I was tired of Belmonts dying". Every time he formed a bond with a Belmont, he obviously had to bury his friend. And that weighed on him. So Juste only saw him once. He never met Richter's mother and only appeared to Richter because "Well its about that time some vampire punk forgets just who TF I am so I need my trusty Belmont sidekick to put them in their place"

After seeing how Sega is making a massive comeback with Sonic and announcing a new Virtua Fighter game coming soon, I honestly don’t know why Konami is just sitting on its ass with Castlevania! Honestly if they’re never going to make another REAL video game then they should just sell off the rights to a company that would actually do something great with that IP, like Capcom or Santa Monica Studios. Can you imagine a full AAA Castlevania game done with the action gameplay style of Devil May Cry, with the writing quality of this show?
