Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey Gameplay Walkthrough Part 1 - How Far Will We Evolve?

Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is a survival game played from a third-person perspective. In the game, players control a member of an ape clan and have to manage the player character's health by eating, drinking, and sleeping. The game starts in an African jungle, an open world filled with threats including predators like giant birds and poisonous plants. Players can climb any tree in the jungle, though the player character will break its bones if it falls down. As players progress, new areas are opened up for players to explore. When an ape is exploring new locations or being hunted by predators, it will enter a state of "fear" which can be overcome by finding glowing orbs of light, or else it will descend into a state of hysteria. While the world is dangerous, the apes can use their heightened senses to listen to various sounds, such as that of a predator, a lost clan member, or an outsider which can be recruited to the player's clans. The primate can use its intelligence to pinpoint the locations of different items of interest and make new discoveries such as identifying new food or tools. As players continue to make new discoveries, the apes become more intelligent and capable, and new skills such as using leaves to make bedding and medicinal plants to heal themselves are unlocked. If the player character dies, players will shift to controlling another clan member. If all clan members die, the lineage becomes extinct and players need to restart the game.

@@hotdogpepper8410 A bow drill is quite a bit more than hitting a stick with another stick, which is what this youtuber was attempting to do. If you took just two sticks and rubbed them together with just your hands, you will never make a fire. A bow drill is a primitive machine that would take a lot longer to come up with than this game gives you.

Tips for first-timers. 1-Pick up the kids. Anytime you do anything or go anywhere have one or two of them buggers on you at all times. Makes leveling up far faster. 2-The ping sound is the time to hit shit. So time your inputs. 3-Having tons of kids. Your playing a clan of apes so make sure your clan is sizeable. 4-Find new apes. The same basic idea as three. 5-Elders likely can bleed so make sure you have kids at all times. So when you jump 15 years you have apes to make more.

@@teetolounge7955 There's a guide with pictures, holding the arm, cotton fiber, or horsetail paste. Holding the head and throat, thirsty, cracked coconut. Looking over the shoulders, just hold them. Throwing up, stomach held, give food.

Just bought the game a month ago, finished it in a week and the pick up kids thing is really not that important. You only need to have kids around. Having more kids on you or around doesnt help with neuronal energy (levelling up).

You want to keep the babies with you at all times, especially when you're exploring. Your clan learns faster when the babies are with you and think about it this way, the babies are the future of your legacy. You want them to learn faster than you did what is safe and what isn't safe. This way by the time they're adults, they know where to find decent food, what predators to watch out for, Etc.

First of all when something explodes it means that you failed in altering it try timing it perfectly and secondly carry babies with you at all time they make you gain more neuronal points and you can hold to at a time P.s when you alter a basalt rock it gives you a faster way of sharpening sticks it takes like 3 to 5 hits to sharpening a stick with the basalt

I KNOW you have long finished this series, but this info may help New Players, Lightly tap a Rock onto the Obsydian to produce a Obsydian axe or scraper, next use the Obsydian Scaper on the Branch to shapen the stick, it takes less effore to use the Obsydian scarper to sharpen the stick into a spear than it does to sharpen the stick using a rock. when you get cold you need to find Khat plants near water, you can eat them directly or the best method is to use your grinder and make a paste and apply it to your body, always keep some in reserve in your camp.
