Beautiful reflection. However if sins of parents don't affect children, why did God kill the first child of King David and Bathsheba? Clearly the child was innocent, so why was the innocent child punished? (Book of Samuel) Also when Jesus killed the paralytic at the pool of Bethesda (John. 5)... After healing he told the person to sin no more. Clearly showing that his illness was on account of his sins.

I think it was because of his sin that God took his son because even though he prayed and cried to God, God forgave him but didn't give his child back.. There is punishment to sin.. If you commit sins God will definitely punish you like a father punishes his child.. God disciples his children... Also there are consequences of you commit sins.. David did a pretty bad and evil sin so as a punishment God took his son.
