No that is Not correct! Being a Bantu, Nilote or Cushite was based on looks and languages after the scramble of Africa of 1885. The African diversity can never be simplified to only 3 simple groups. The diversity in E Africa alone is so big that will make random Chinese and a Greek be more like cousins than a random Luo and a Massai will be. Languages, Skin colors and body features changes over time depending with a group environmental adaptation and genetic exposure. There are many small African tribes who don't belong to the 3 mentioned groups and are becoming slowly extinct or being absorbed into other tribes.

Moroccans Kushites? Not all Moroccans. Ethiopians Kushites? Not all Ethiopians, bc they also have Semitic language speakers too. Listen, Cushitic, Bantu, Semitic and Nilotic, scientifically speaking, are based on language grouping and not ethnic grouping. Europeans who came to colonize Africa made up those language grouping because they thought those languages must belong a same family tree accordingly. For example, Maasai of Kenya speak different language than Dinka people of South Sudan yet they are grouped in the Nilotic family language due to what European scientist in 1800s defined as being "similar languages."

@@dawoodngalo5617 at last someone made sense. I really don't understand why some people want to be special in Africa. This thing is straight forward, Africans have African features, if you have different features from true African, you are mixed. Firstly, Arabic is not African language, those who are speaking that language o mixture of that language, it's obvious they came along with the language from Arab, they are not true Africans. I'm Bantu from SA and most of our coloreds look like most of these East Africa people. I know a colored when i see it, we have plenty in my country. That's the reason those East Africa people don't look the same even when in the same country, even their hair differs a lot, some is too curly, some half curly and some almost straight. those are the results of mix breeding, it depends which genes dominated during cross breeding. I know that from coloreds, if you go to their Townships, you will notice same pattern as East Africans, some look too European while some are in the middle while others look too much African

@Adam Jackson The point is this, to say that no East African person has ever traveled to West African and settled there to have their descendants get caught up in the Transatlantic slave trade is a lie. After all, West Africans migrated from the North East originally. My haploid is L3e2a is an East African haplogroup that migrated to Central and West Africa and all over the world. The L3e group populated the whole world. People migrate all the time. There have been cases where some African Americans have their result come back as having percentage of Egyptians and Northeast Africa. Obviously, the TransAtlantic slavery involved mostly West and Central Africa, but there are a few ancestry test coming back with East African and Southeast African percentage from people who are not classified as Bantu, though mines did most likely come from a Bantu tribe from Southeast Africa.

I'm sixty four this feb . An hearing this for the first time . I'm wondering if these tests are that accurate that they can detect one percent anything ? The other thing that stumps me is that I knew my great grandpa on my moms side and know for certain he was one half cherokee an his wife full blood an therefore my grandpa my moms dad was three quarters cherokee , none of this showed as any result on my DNA test . I've seen an heard theories that all people have descended from African folks . Well true or not I really have always believed God created us all an we are all more alike than we are different an that therefore we all have an are of great worth in Gods eyes an were all precious an priceless to Him . I often feel that if we could all see things this way there would be no hate or pregdious an this world would be a way better place . I loved your video an found it interesting . Thank you for providing it .

Hi Dixie, yes this is interesting that you found this information. I have had American friends who have realized that upon doing a test that their ancestry was a rich blend of multiple cultures that they may not have been aware of. Remember that in those days having black blood was not looked at favorably and in many cases the slave masters would have children with the Africans and some of these children (mulatto) if they got more of their features and color from their white side would pass. In a few generations it would never be known. Some choose no to speak about it. I am not saying this is your history but it would not surprise me if this was not spoken about hence the surprise at the DNA test.

Kadzowe It absolutely does and I have often considered the fact that, of the people whom I have met from Africa, there was such an absolutely noteworthy level of how they carried themselves. They had a most balanced and secure self image, the place that all people truly need to be in positive self love. Since I was a child, I always thought of those from Africa as sharing a type of "royal image", complete with a higher knowledge, education and wisdom. Whether one had a college education or not, it's a type of wisdom that comes from the parenting, family, community. That is largely absent in African Americans sadly, and quite understandably. When one knows their ancestors, their tribe or in my case (Irish - Klan or County), it just motivates that healthy minded pride. Although the Irish assimilated into the USA socially much easier, it still allowed for me to grasp the reality of such suffering. It can feel horrible imagining a history that involved discrimination and slavery - I clearly understand this, as the Irish suffered such a wrath of that treatment, in our homeland and in the USA to a lesser degree, but very public event (Irish Need Not Apply). It is most necessary for those of us whom come from such scenarios to understand 3 things, in order to take better advantage of this life journey, towards our own personal and professional successes: 1) The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference, and that means there no time wasted dwelling on it and no ill feeling baggage. 2) Carrying the weight of anger and prejudice towards others, is exactly what one condemns of those whom brought is upon our ancestors, the prejudice is a paranoia and not at all an element of a balanced and wise, healthy and successful minded individual. That weight will eventually pull one down, prevent opportunities, and generally lessen one's greater outcome potentials. Thus, don't focus on the Problem, focus on the Solution! 3) "Success is a Journey, Not a Destination" - author, unknown One of the strongest points, which I have revisited routinely throughout my adult life and it continues to give me the reminder of "Conscious appreciation for the achievements in the now, whether a task completed towards a greater goal, past successes that I treasure in accomplishments, and encouragement towards new and greater successes. I truly believe we are in an era that is in the midst of a major evolution for the human race and our planet. I feel it require greater wisdom understanding, gentler patience with fellow man and woman, and a clarity of vision to capture the difference between "bait for manipulating" and the "agenda of Establishment". If the people of this world have a foundation to encourage the sel-balance necessary for each to truly focused on their Passion Potentials, and the Education, they can move much quicker to that level of Wisdom that allows for: Grasping the universal realities and we are truly relearning what the Ancients (our ancestors knew and I feel tried to leave information about for us - and here is where we realize through current day Physics and Ancient tablets, scrolls, etc - souls are energy, energy is eternal, and we are all one Source/God soul energy. That is absolutely the most powerful realization I can imagine, and it took me years, lots of education, lots of life experiences, and a great deal of research to find the various sources and pieces of the life puzzle to arrive. Mercy - it truly did.) I so encourage your shared works like this, as there are so many lives that can benefit from the magic feelings inspired by pride in one's heritage. Countless African Americans that need inspiration for their greater potentials. I shared your KZbin post with friends - a Mother and Daughter, friends I met through my son, as he's friends with the daughter - and the daughter is your TWIN! You girls look so much alike! Beth Bartlett Unfortunately, this video was created out of misinformation. The Bantus only are native to Central Africa semi-Bantus starting in Cameroon, going down to southern Africa, and also East Africa. Bantu dna a midst Afro-American African ancestry tend to be partial, small, or non existent, and Nilotic dna tends to be even smaller, and Cushitic dna almost non existent. My Bantu dna is 4 percent discovering from Ancestry DNA(ancestry.com) with a slight chance of it being at least 2 percent more seeing 4 percent of my dna comes from the Cameroon/Congo region which is composed of non Bantu peoples, Bantu peoples, & Semi-Bantu peoples. I don’t have Cushitic dna, and my Nilotic dna is about 3 percent, and that is probably due to some Hausa or Songhay ancestry two of the few peoples who contain Nilotic dna in West Africa. As far west as Senegal to as far east as Nigeria there are no Bantus, a little Nilo-Saharan dna, but no Cushites.

Why would an Afro-American ask if they were Bantu, Nilote, or Cushite? Most Afro-Americans came from West Africa. Bantus are predominantly in Central Africa, East Africa, & Southern Africa. Most Nilotes are in East Africa, & most Cushites are in Northeast Africa. If your Afro-American friend has Bantu African genes it is only partial, or only a small portion. She most likely definitely doesn’t have Cushitic dna. If she has any Nilotic dna it would be from solely the Hausa of northern Nigeria who have some or the Songhay who also have some, but West Africa is not predominantly Nilote, Cushite or Bantu.

Greetings! I am African American and I just received my results from ancestry DNA and it says I am 28% Cameroonian bantu I was listening to you describe the bantu features but I don't have a broad nose. Alot of African people usually ask if I'm Nigerian or Ghanaian but I have a very very very low percentage of that DNA. I found out there are different bantu tribes. So what's the difference between the eastern , western, and southern bantu people?
@kashabella75102 жыл бұрын
Hi am bantu too um the difference is that some bantu people also have features that may seem different coming as a result of intermarrages but no much difference

@Kazodwe where did you get the figure of 80% Bantu population for Africa? West Africa is not Bantu. I think the figure is more like 60%. Unless you meant 80% of sub-Saharan Africa is Bantu which still seems an overestimate.
@kiokomutua46952 жыл бұрын
They are, genetically, have Y haplogroup E1B1A, considered the Bantu DNA. Also they are in the Niger-Congo language family. Check out E1B1A on KZbin
@AfricanMaverick2 жыл бұрын
It's not even 60%, West Africa has 400m ppl and Bantus are 300m. West Africa is the largest group. Out of 1 billion subsaharan Africa Bantu is only 30%. West Africa are not the same as Bantu, we have different Haplogroup, genes, culture, languages, values, we're different people.
@sylviamaua7452 жыл бұрын
@@AfricanMaverickbut the 400 million West African people are not a monolith, the population is very diverse. In Nigeria alone, the Hausa and Fulani have little in common with Yoruba and Igbos. Also, what about the Nilotes and Cushitic people in South Sudan, Eastern DR Congo, Central African Republic, East Africa? They are many as well - Ethiopia's population is over 100 million. So my 60 % for Bantu population is definitely an overestimate. I agree with you that it is closer to 30%.
@AfricanMaverick2 жыл бұрын
@@sylviamaua745 of course we have differences, we're diverse, that's only ethnic groups you mention, has a whole we are west Africa, we don't share no socio-cultural values with Bantu.

M CH also, remember the term west African is a term created by the Europeans to categorize Africans in a particular region. As a result Africans who were in the west at the time were identified as from that area. They may not have been. I hope this helps.
@mch79334 жыл бұрын
@@Kadzowe you give Europeans too much credit. There's nothing like the term "West African" Was given by Europeans. People living in the geographical west of Africa are "west Africans". It's not that deep
@Kadzowe4 жыл бұрын
@@mch7933 The term is western and was given by Europeans and it is 'that deep'. Africans before colonization did not have boundaries. I realize that for some people the impact of colonization and the enslavement of Africans is not 'that deep'. This is one of the reasons the black lives matter and systemic racism are still an issue. It's always never 'that deep' and that's the problem. Creating terms and boundaries and giving labels to people in other countries is 'real deep' and it was not right.
@mch79334 жыл бұрын
@@Kadzowe I don't know how deep you are with all this afro-centric pseudohistory but as a historian I can confirm to you that African kingdoms, cities and empires had boundaries. Even in my Yoruba culture we use the ìrókò and other big trees to mark boundaries. "west african" is simply a geographical term - WEST of AFRICA Simple.. Literally that simple
