Hahaha the marina im in over the winter months (wet storage on a 34 marine trader like yours) is the same one the guy is in the last picture you shared. I just saw him this past weekend and said to myself “hey that looks like a Tula shirt!” But he had zipped by my boat before I could say anything. Here we go Captain. Hello Bahamas! A good place to stretch your sea legs is to pop over to Bermuda for a couple weeks on your way. Have you guys thought about doing a small crossing like that. Hurricane season is just finishing up. It's a well traveled path so you won't ever be far from help should anything come up. Plus with as fast as Adrenaline is the crossing will go really fast anyway. What maybe 5 or 6 days if you take the long way. Please please please go show us around Bermuda. I will never be able to go but you guys are all set up to travel the world for almost no cost at all. There is tons of things to do. Lots of snorkeling and diving opportunities. Even some swimming with dolphins which will change your life. If money is the issue figure out what you need and we can do a fund raiser.

Hey Billy, how about trying your Mantus without the roll-bar a few times, see if it makes any difference. I think it might set even better (no weight on top, so more weight in the nose) and she'll land the right way up anyway.

Please please please don't attach your anchor like that. New modern anchors like the mantus set a lot better and if you get a change in wind directions the swivel you have on there will blow apart. Please put 3 to 4 links of chain on the anchor first then put on your swivel that way it will always pull in a straight line on that swivel.

I'm interested in your idea of attaching the anchor chain to the shank,. Are you running the chain through the anchor then using the swivel to attach the chain to its self? Want to make sure I'm secure. Thank you!

Thanks! that's a great idea. I bought two different types of swivels for my boat but after reading about all the anchor swivel failures I never installed them at all?! This install idea seems like it would fix the issue of the anchor resetting on a wind direction change and blowing out the swivel. :-)

I just swapped to Mantus and it sets way quicker and harder than the plow I had before. For WiFi only tablet I use a Garmin Glo Bluetooth gps antenna. It is robust and can be mounted anywhere. Then I can use a cheaper disposable tablet.

Back in the day (1986/88) I was racing in IOR. We were one of the first to have a DOS computer on an IOR boat. I remember we paid about $7,000 for the GRID computer, it ran off the boat's DC supply. we didn't have anything like a box to mount it in. Instead, each night I would strip down the computer and cleaning the the PCBs and the rest of the interior and exterior. By the end, you could see where the salt had etched the boards. So $300 for an iPad looks a good deal. Interestingly we still run the same telemetry and tactical software we used back then, it just does more . . .

Ifixit has repair parts and tools for Apple. My iPad had the screen just pop lose and the battery died. I installed a new battery and glued the screen back. It works great for 100 bucks.
