Thanks soooo much for taking your time and showing things like the character creation screen, the hangar, a cockpit etc. for longer sections of the video. So many content creators just rush through those parts, thinking (or fearing?), they're not intersting enough. Can't really express how much I appreciate it! (Only to be topped, if you would have inspected a TIE cockpit, too.. but hey, dreams! ;)) Yeah, I'm so stoked for this in VR! Also extremely nice to hear that Motive/EA seem to have checked all the right boxes regarding the story mode so far. The refined visuals, sounds and all I can conclude about the gameplay are totally blowing my mind right now. By the way: very nice lighting setup. Magical and almost in a fun 90's Spielberg-y way(?) (I hope the last part isn't offensive. It's certainly not meant to be.)

It’s something that I’m gradually evolving; I think I’m nearly there with being happy with it. Thanks!! It's almost sounding like Squadrons IS the rebels sequel. Wedge and Hera, plus referencing Sabine's disappearance with Ahsoka.

Thanks for making this - Nice to hear your thoughts. You mention the links to Canon and also mention the Alphabet Squadron books - Not sure if you've read those but they mention Vanguard Squadron throughout both books - Shadow Fall also takes place at the same time because Hera heads to the Bormea Sector to help out Vanguard (All the games maps are from the Bormea Sector) Whenever they mention Vanguard in the books they don't specifically mention the pilots - Like you said I guess this is because they're leaving the customisation open for you.

Yes!! I’m so excited about this! I’m reading through Alphabet Squadron right now and just read over a mention of Vanguard Squadron! It was so cool to see. And I got to the point where Hera is introduced and Alphabet Squadron is operating out of the Lodestar now. I can hardly put the book down now. Glad you enjoyed!! Yeah, I always am more interested in the campaign stories in games too rather than the multiplayer modes historically. For example, the Battlefront II campaign with Iden and Inferno Squad is AMAZING and one of my favorite Star Wars stories. That’s what I enjoyed most in BFII and relating it to lore and the impact on the larger galaxy and a larger sense/appreciation of what was happening. But what I saw here in Squadrons seems to have a lot of lore/galaxy-state reasons to be doing what we’re doing in the pvp modes, especially fleet battles I think.

Haha yeah I’m not sure if Chiss would ever be added in but I would absolutely love it! I suppose it’s possible but the developers seem to be really really careful with canon continuity even for customization options, which I’m really appreciative of. I think it would be more likely for a Pantoran to be added to the rebel side and I’ll just headcanon it’s a Chiss in disguise 😂 And that’s only IF they have plans for DLC etc and/or if there’s more to be unlocked beyond the build i played, I don’t know. As for Thrawn having a fam of his own before the Empire, I don’t know. I lean toward yes but that’s just a feeling to be honest all hinged on he and Vah’nya’s interaction in Treason feeling like a father daughter moment. I’m not sure of his age or the circumstances in canon now prior to his joining the Empire, but I’m hopeful we’ll learn more in Chaos Rising!!! So excited for September. And thanks so much about the engagement!!! 😄

What did you mean that its close to the destruction of Alderaan? It takes place after ROTJ right?

The prologue we were able to play takes place soon after Alderaan’s destruction and Sloane is still a Commodore. I assume because of the cockpit flair and the trailer that the story/campaign stretches beyond episode 6 but that prologue is all we saw story-wise.
