I was 55 off. I took a rough estimate of the jelly beans dimensions and made a rectangular prism out of them. 17*14*14 and then I added 1 for fun to make it 3333. I suppose that's an educated guess since I'm using more information than I was initially given.

Calculate the volume and adjust down to account for space between the contents. My guess was 4,051 when accounting for about 80% filled. When changing answer to 75%, which I usually do, the answer I got was 3,404.

Rather than counting I would estimate by weight, if each bean weights between .5 and 1 gram you could have between 100-200 beans per 100 grams. Next step is to estimate the weight of bowl which according to result is around 3-4kg.

You could never estimate the size of the bowl. Could be plastic could be glass could have a really thick base and lip. Easier to measure the volume of the jar.

ayeeee I guessed 3500 since I counted around 10 jelly beans from the side to center of the container. 4/3pir^3 is the equation of a sphere so you get 1000*pi*4/3 which is around 3000*4/3 which is around 4000. But it’s not a sphere, it’s a lot less than a sphere so I said around 3500

Do you think the jar will coast more or less than $220. Answer is comments before checking answer. It is $402.33 because 40 jellybeans coast around $5 and 3388 (this is according to Amazon) divided by 40 is 84.7, which is then multiplied by 5 to give a total of $423.50 then the jellybeans are being bought at a massive amount so I should factor a discount of 5% which bring the coast to $402.325. A google search reveals that the packing factor for jelly beans is between 0.7 and 0.715. So now all you need to do is to measure the dimensions of the container.

Or you can use your phones screen as a baseline measurement and get an estimate of the volume of the part of the jar that is full than get an estimate of the volume of a gelly been and do some math and than you can at least have a guess that will be in the ball park of the actual number.
