Another great video. I will investigate appending one of these anchors to my boat. The cruising grounds look amazing. Thank you

Hey buddy... I know right. I will mark the weekend in the calendar. Maybe we can meet up before on land sometime. I am travelling so much at the moment though, hopefully it will slow down

Nice gadget! But is the anchor held only by the winch brakes after it is dropped? no extra cleat to tie down the anchor line for safety?
@SailingAurora Жыл бұрын
The clutch is very strong, however they do recommend to tie it off on a cleat if the strain increases. This is easily done, on the stern cleat but to be honest I would just move to a more sheltered area which can be found pretty easily in the archipelago

on the film you just showed there is a huge big slanted pull on your anchor rope, how do you think this will affect the system over time.
@SailingAurora Жыл бұрын
The system is designed for this and has held up well so far. There is a stainless steel plate also behind the transom to provide reenforcement. I Can't see any future problems structurally

Why don't you use Fortress anchor for stern?
@Cptnbond Жыл бұрын
Maybe asking, why using a Bruce anchor? Not why using anchor Xyz? My experience with Bruce in the area is that it holds very well in mud (as Chris said). Fair winds.😁

The Bruce anchor works really well in the Swedish mud :)

The fortress probably would hold well, but it is quite light and a little clumsy to handle. As sgt bond says, the bruce is ideal for muddy conditions up here
