I believe that the human race has been around for many millions of years longer than we think. Many times destroyed, almost completely, but not quite. Who knows how many times it has happened. We will never know. Every time it happens, knowledge is lost along with that society. Unfortunately, this time around, will be a short one.

Completely agree. Ice ages and asteroid crashings probably the most likely culprits to almost exterminating humans and only a few families in remote places survived. Then an "Adam and Eve" scenario starts over, hundreds of thousands of years later we get the large populations... until the next incident.

I beg to differ. I don't remember where, but I ran across some info recently that raised the question of how long would evidence of our existence remain. The only really lasting evidence would be some types of radioactive by-products. Can you think of anything that would last even a hundred thousand years? Even if it did ,what are the chances of it being found? We are talking about earth, which is 4,5 billion years old

Recently I purchased a pocket stove for my backpack. What has this to do with this vid you may ask! Well when this vid was talking about the do-dec-ahed-dron, it occurred to me that it may have been part of a soldiers gear or even of a household, to use as a small cook stove, that needs very little fuel to use, nearly no or little smoke, and the flame is virtually protected from wind and rain, if a shepard had one it would be very useful, and would possibly help keep surrounding areas from catching fire, the balls would be to support a small pot on the top and the ones toward the bottom would keep it from rolling away . Just one more but what seems to be a very good observation.
@tag1462
@tag1462 6 жыл бұрын
Christine Horner you may be onto something. Maybe. I can see something like this used as a fire grate, which makes some sense, but I don't see how it would be kit for a field army. You would have to carry that, as well as the rest of your gear. And before you respond, yes I know they would have stuffed things into the center like all backpackers would do. But I do like the fire ring idea because it makes sense.

I dont think you realize how small they actually are. I mean were talking between a quarter and a 50 cent piece... almost to small to have a significant purpose. Definitely to small for cooking of any sort.
@tag1462
@tag1462 6 жыл бұрын
Depending on the source, the D12's were 6 inches up to a foot in diameter. Based upon that, a cooking kit could make sense better than the anchor theory. The Romans were very ingenious with what they had to work with. Surprised that Roman glass or concrete didn't make this list. So if the D12's were that small as you say, I wouldn't be surprised if the Romans used them as a form of rebar.
@topdogalpha
@topdogalpha 6 жыл бұрын
@@tag1462 I would agree, given that there were only ones of that size. But to have the size varying that much, I doubt they would be making half dollar size ones for a different purpose than making the bigger ones. Also cooking doesn't offer an explanation for the littler ones existence.
@tag1462
@tag1462 6 жыл бұрын
I don't know, I wasn't there. But I know one thing, those D12's weren't made just for the hell of it. You don't put that much effort into something without an end purpose in mind.

The Dodecahedron looks to be a device that you put "spikes" through the hole, put into the water, and it'll turn into an artificial coral reef system which draws in sea life (including of course, coral). It could also be used as a barrier against enemy ships, sort of like today's tank traps (i.e. Czech hedgehog).

History is not completely "BS" when it comes to prehistoric, because it's "prehistoric". We simply do not have the whole picture yet. If indeed, humankind has existed for millions of years, it's because the only thing of man that can exist that long, be literally be made of stone. Personally I discount the Shroud of Turin and the Voynich manuscript as medieval forgeries. I assume the "Roman Dodecahedron" at 28:02, looks like a replica particularly since it appears to have modern numerals on one side of it.

Mike There was a wool based waterproof cloak used throughout the Roman empire who's manufacture was based in Britain. If the later British wool industry was anything to go on aspects of it existed in other parts of continental Europe. Maybe these were some sort of guild sign, a mock up of something used in manufacture.

The hammer is only a few hundred of years old. Iron concretions can form in limey sediments in a short time (geologically) This hammer was found near a river, like coins from the 1700's found in near-water sediments, it has formed a concretion as the iron weathers naturally. Look into iron coins or iron hardware found in shipwrecks, they all have concretions around them.

Petrification can occur in years. It doesn't require tons of time. When I was a kid I came across a tree that was growing into a small stream. Some of the roots had petrified. And I don't mean they got hard. I mean they were rock. Since the tree was still alive, it was for sure not a gazillion years old.

I've always argued that if the earth is 4.5 billion years old and life began only 500 million years after earth came to be then it is highly possible that there were more species and civilizations before us that could have reached our level of advancements if not higher; and if even plastic can't last more than 10,000 years - evidence of these lost civilizations before us could be near impossible to find as someone born to a hindu society, the hindu scripture always fascinated me in a scientific way more than religious because here they are, talking about gods with mighty powers and they are flying around in a flying chariot and not on their own like superman - they have weapons of mass destruction and not laser eyes - a bow that could shoot multiple arrows of fire in a sec - these gods died and not live forever, they were organized groups with a judicial system, a financial system ( kuber the richest god who loaned money to other gods) - these scriptures then talks about the demise of these civilizations which is either an incredible imagination ahead of their time or a set of facts that gradually evolved into unbelievable myths over time.

veget, it's arrogant and ridiculous to think many past civilizations given the earth's age, weren't technologically, intellectually and spiritually thousands, maybe millions of years more advanced then than we are now. It would also be ridiculous not to think that many of them developed the technology to leave here and actually did.

Life on Earth is estimated at about 4200 million years, while Complex life is approximately 500 million years.
@vegeteriancannibal
@vegeteriancannibal 6 жыл бұрын
Evidence of complex life is approximately 500 million years old however, like I said in my comment - evidences of events from billions of years ago is impossible to know - which is why we still don't know the origins of Life on earth because it's difficult to know - for all we know - life itself could have had come to near extinction and survived over and over again - we don't know!! But 4 billion years is a long time - I'm not saying that many advanced civilization did walk the earth and die - i'm saying there's high possibility - even for 500 million years - there's huge possibility - the evidences of the oldest civilization we have is for 7 - 8000 years old - imagine - 8000 years compared to even 1 million years, leave alone 500 million - Dina sours are estimated to have died only 200 - 60 million years ago - imagine - 1 million years of humans - how many civilizations could have come and go

Those little sphears that are also hollow remind me of something in ancient warfare. They use to have similar looking balls made from iron that they filled with magnesium, a sulfuric acid and water, then threw them at their enemies or enemy camps, the compound inside would react with itself like thermite and would burn uncontrollably, when the enemy would put water on them to put them out the water would excite the magnesium making it more violent.

6:20 the round stones IMO is data, that once we learn how to use or play them, might produce energy, or have data, maybe like CVL, or textbooks (computerized Video lessons) again dating method are a sham, AND humans were more tech advanced than they admit. Plumbing pipes, stone spheres with indentation is for game or machine. Q are there any magnetic properties to the spheres? What about their frequency? Waffle rock could be a system used, so for example assembly worker, perhaps stone carver, wit h water for cooling, just like factories today. 29:00, might have been used to get holes sized correct for plumbing - or as a device used to clear pipe draining of obstruction perhaps frequency was used that caused the balls to vibrate and clear hair etc. Jars or containers, could have been used, to store shared items a resource based economy might use. After shearing sheep any community member could take what they need, or for fermentation of vinegar, liquor, oils etc.

very close you guys have had your thinking caps on .. the Dodecahedron are time recording tools.. watch I will explain ,30 edges , 20 verticals , 12 faces ... and yes they use rope and knots to record the timing of the shifting lunar and solar cycles , between winter and summer cellist the size of the moon changes from small to large and back again ..so you could measure the size of the moon in the sky and then judge the patterns to record a group of knots in a rope you keep as a guide to timing your trip from one place to another ...we have seen examples of the ropes with the knots in many places but never as far as I know of has the tool been found with the recorded ropes ,but as you can guess this is not something you would throw away ...and it would be a prized tool to any group or tribe , this is why the holes are different sizes but yet they range from small to large and the tool can be flipped from one size to the next from any position within the 12 faces or in this case 12 sizes of the holes ,each edge is a zodiac the holes have a line around them so they can be used in the dark where touch is used to define what hole is what and the sizes of your fingers help the user mark his place as he records the dates and time laps ....the 20 verticals would define phases of the lunar cycle , so we can see all the detail in these tools and how they were most likely used ...we in the modern world fail to see in the dark where most in the past had no way of seeing at all and they would define small ways to out think the darkness and make tools that could help them even in the night time ...IMHO this is what the tools are used for and why ...now your going to ask ,if your smart . what about the zodiac simples . see they used what they learn from the tool to judge the movements of other things they saw in the sky in the cases of the planets they knew some planets would show up in the sky at a given time or rope knot count . see the zodiac phases relate to the turn of the earth the 12 phases of the faces of the zodiac or the faces of the dodecahedron , they could see the same patterns in the moon phases as they seen in the zodiac in the sky .. this told them the planets were moving around the earth and in what patterns and they could get a clear knot count for each part of the years and what planets would be in sight at what times of the years ....so what you are looking at is a calendar and a way to record time and distance traveled ... a basic DR (dead reckoning ) navigational tool .... but what would I know ... I am just a X Navy Quarter Master and a mechanical genius and Aviation master tool & dye ," the unknown is only logic yet to be define "

Unsetteling discovery to know downward falling motion known as Gravity, happens when free flowing active GAS MOLECULES becomes trapped and motionless within the process of gas bonding, the mechanism that make solid objects, which renders them ENERGY LOCK and lifeless gas molecules, with no where to go but downward.

I was looking for gold, deep inside an 1850's drift mine. An ancient river bed completely filled with a hot mud layer that cooled and turned to cement. The metal detector went off, normally, there is no trash, only gold, when you dig into the walls past three inches. I looked at the wall closely, there was no evidence of a near surface target, i.e. a nail or timber spike. With excitement I pick axed into the wall cement, several inches, but no evidence of any kind of target. The signal got louder! Experience tells me, at this point it going to be Gold! The pick axe swinging, I see it? And it is not Gold? It is IRON? Old, very Old? Was not hammered into the wall from the shaft. I know this for a fact! But school taught us that the layer it was in, is millions of years old? Every deep target is/was Gold, and I still don't understand how a wire shaped iron piece could be that far in the wall without leaving a rust stain on the wall surface where it was driven into the wall. It should have been gold??

The hammer was placed there in situ by an early prospector and forgotten. The pinched head of the hammer is for splitting rocks to check for gold. Such a dry climate explains the preservation and rapid fossilization of the handle. Sedimentary stone is a bit like glass, over time it slouches. It's a superfluid. Glass is sometimes called asupercooled liquid because it does not form a crystalline structure, but instead forms an amorphous solid that allows molecules in the material to continue to move. However, Scientific American indicates that amorphous solids are neither supercooled liquidsnor solids.

Gault TX has stone floor that may be 15,000 years old - beating Patagonia skeletal fossil discovery - and all prior to Bering Sea landbridge route, which I expect was created by Younger Dryas event 12,000 yrs ago. How close is Rockwall TX?
@victorherron2767
@victorherron2767 6 жыл бұрын
The Younger Dryas event is a fascinating and favourite subject, but far too large an issue for me to even attempt a proper comment here. However, I'd like to briefly mention something about the Rockwall, Texas matter. In Season 2, Episode 3 of the (American) History Channel's television series, "America Unearthed," (first aired in Dec 2013, available on KZbin) forensic geologist Scott Wolter conducted a study of the eponymous "rock wall," which included paleo-magnetic analysis, a technique not available to earlier researchers. The conclusive result was that, despite having an appearance of man-made masonry (no, not the "free & accepted" kind!) it is in fact a natural geologic feature, some 80-odd-million years old. Thanks for the opening. Best wishes.

Please read below. *Another fact, which is not fully known to the general public, the dominant position of the Slovak language to the other Slavic nations. In this context, we mention the work of American linguist and scientist prof. Price's, which considered the Slovak language as " the key to all Slavic language" and for the media to an understanding with other Slavs. (John D. Price, The Key to all Slavonic languages, SHF, Columbia University, New York, Dec. 15, 1943, 9 p.). Professor J. Price this idea expressed at the Congress of Slavists in Warsaw. The Polish delegation came out with a proposal that was approved by the definition of the first Slavic language in which the decisive point is Slovak. In addition to the Czech delegation, everyone voted for the Polish proposal: "the Slovak language is the oldest and according to him is then created other Slavic languages" (Canadian Slovak, Slovak, the oldest Slavic language, Toronto, March 23, 1989).
