I really appreciate when city-builder games try to take a more realistic approach like this. Sometimes games lose something important when they focus too much on balance, at the cost of realism. I also appreciate your channel for introducing me to so many city-builders. Thanks.

Why not for example use Unreal Engine and use their budget for more content instead of making their own engine? You can have mixed foliage and trees in Unreal Engine as well, most developers choose to not get such detailed, randomized mixture of foliage because in doesn't fit their game design.

I intensely want to see this succeed as I'm a extreme historical and science buff. They have so much potential and to this day they're short on funding they always have been. They almost died a few times and need more support. It doesn't help that they've kept everyone in the dark and banned a few folks on twitter. They need to know they can trust and listen to their base followers they just need to reach out with passionate sincerity and I'm sure folks will rally if we're informed on their Hope's and dreams with the game, and they take into consideration the criticisms in a constructive manner. I'm sticking with Dawn of Man FOR NOW, but I'm not going anywhere and will continue to encourage folks to understand Uncasual Games' dire position from lack of funding. They need to reach out and listen in return and we their following base need to be more considerate of their position and encourage them to improve rather than give up on a whim, telling them to screw off. It must be unanimous. We can succeed it's just a matter of endurance prudence and more ongoing innovation. Don't give up Uncasual Games.

You should have around 100-200 mushrooms. Two options: 1)Remove more people from work groups so that you have 5 to 7 non-work group members OR 2) Set-up a second work group for gathering food only. You can have berries, rosehips, mushrooms, and hazel nuts (I think maybe you have to be in more mountainous regions for these). They food work group members will gather whatever is available. Cheers.

Fun video as usual Raptor. From back in the day a pelt hut was usually more of a wind breaker and a temporary tent than a winter protection tent and great for a long journey for transporting in distances. Set up some long sticks, add pelt, pack up and move again kind of tent. Straw hut was good for the cold and more of a structure as the straw is good insulation but did not hold up against the wind. Makes me wonder if you can assign certain huts for certain types of conditions and weather in the future for certain leaders or people?

It might be a bad idea to add stone collection to your food gathers group. I remember in those tutorial boxes that it said to keep food gatherers and material gatherers separate. I saw all your earlier videos and noticed you had a ton of material gathering, later adding berry collection to the materials group. I remember that you had tons of sticks, rocks, tools----but not one single unit of berry. Even though there were lots of berries in the surrounding forest. I am thinking that gathering a food unit in the materials gathering group somehow conflicts the game engine, and it does not know what to do with it, so it does nothing. Just an observation. Cheers!!!

Exactly, I remember the Dawn of Man animations for stone and log gatherers. I think they are painfully accurate. I am sure they were more physically adept than we are now, except the professional athletes a fitness enthusiasts. Looks like they accurate about the intellect as well. The episode from one of Raptor’s other video where there was one surviving male resident says it all: He was about 10 hours from starvation, he kept gathering materials to repair tents in a settlement where everybody else was dead. There was no food, and he was on a designated fishing group. Yikes! There is likely a bug with food regeneration when you start a new year. My thoughts are to migrate about two weeks before the beginning of spring so that you have fresh and untapped food sources. Cheers!

But for it to release into "Early Access" with a price tag of 50 USD and still be so underdeveloped, seems too much for me to invest in. I mean, if the devs just stop touching it, I'll have paid $50 for what is little more than what used to be given away as a "demo" version in years gone by. I've been burned by a couple "early access" games that good content creators (including you Raptor) made look good, which have failed to live up to the hope and promise.
