Vijeshwara temple was build by Jayapida of karakota dynasty and repaired by sultan zainul aabideen and the actual temple which was repaired during mauryan times was Jyeshteshwara or shankaraachaaria temple which is Monument of National Importance, centrally protected under the Archaeological Survey of India located in srinagar on shankaraacharia hill which was also called GOPA hills or present day zabarwan hills
