In Illango's Silapathikaram, a Tamil Literary work the Yavanas bid for courtesan Madhavi at Poompuhar, a coastal trading port. If you are a North Indian and want to know the rest of the story search "Silapathikaram" a story of a commoner.

Everyone seems to think that people of the past were somehow uncivilised because they had less, modern overabundance has really skewed our perception of the past

They traded spices, elephants, ivory, pearls, ebony, and most importantly Iron. I wouldn't say it was an independent country but Southern India because it was a vestige of South India.

@@Śiśna3633 Romans much like the Greeks saw Sri Lanka as an independent entity known as TAPROBANE

Indo Greco-Roman history also has a distinctive Jewish element. All consolidated centuries of overlapping influence to inform and mould the Constantinian Church of paleo-Christianity.

Stop believing all the BS being propagated by Marxists. They want the Indian people to lose their unity. That is why they propagate such lies that there was no India in the past and all such stuff. If we don’t stay united it is easy for countries like the US or China to control us. So stop being an idiot and don’t believe such nonsensical lies.
