ANCIENT ISRAEL, the rise and fall of the kingdom, David, Solomon, Assyria, Babylon. After leaving Egypt, the Israelites conquer Canaan and establish a state modeled after Eastern monarchies. Kings Saul, David, and Solomon rule over a large kingdom with influence in Western Asia. The division of Israel into Judah and Israel and their subsequent fate is the subject of this film, based on sources from the Old Testament and other texts from that time. The Israelites and Canaan, from Babylon to Egypt. The Arameans? Perhaps. The Babylonian or Egyptian captivity was one part of this story.
