For lower stats, I think it's better to drop gas and an ensnare for the copter lane. Just swap the front row DST for another flameburst and you're good for DU and you'll have more elemental damage to deal with physical sirens even better. Another thing you can do is reduce the 5 DU wall to 4 DU and add a reflect to the other wall. That'll save it from archers hanging back and shooting it. Just make sure you stay on top of repairing the walls mid-wave from the tower stack if needed.

Anthem TD this build got me further than before by like 4 waves. Key takeaways for me: my EV is only 80 so it doesn’t have top gear/stats just yet. Also I don’t have a boost monk. I played as a DPS huntress and got to 19. This build clearly works. I’m with you: I think the meta is going to be a buff beam on a bunch of mage towers with reflect walls protecting them. With some auras on the beam as well. Also I don’t have a speedy gem so that might be part of it too.

Graham Kerick The tower boost/speedy gemstone combo is a game changer! He can also double as an elemental DPS character since the soft caps for boost and skill on a monk are so low. 1400 or so in each is plenty, with the rest in vitality to be a bit tanky.

By the way best way to check if something is affected by buff beam is to see if it has armour value.

Glad you're enjoying 1.1. For my part, I got completely screwed by the update. I have the high-end legendaries, and I was able to get to wave 18-22 of Ancient Mines NMHC to get starter mythicals, but I can't any more because they upped the difficulty without making sure the same gear is still obtainable. I actually can't progress with solo play any more. At all.

Oh right of course. Everything is pretty shaken up right now with the update. I’m planning to do a run from level 1 heroes through Nightmare to see what the new path is, not sure how things have changed. On the Ancient Mines, there are places where you’re safe. The rafters and platforms are pretty safe, good places to hang out on a DPS Huntress

Seems that way. I’ll get crackin on that this week then. It seems like breaking into Nightmare has gotten way harder but I can’t tell exactly why from the conversations I’ve been having with people. Maybe I’ll edit down footage from a level 1 start with voiceover instead of the live playthroughs I did for 1.0.

It should be noted if you are buffing the towers as a boost monk to not stand ontop of the towers. I did that and got 1 shot by a siren on wave 13 since the projectile went over the reflect beam, causing my DST not to be able to take out the copters in time without the buff and ended up wiping.

were you jumping? because I did not have this problem and have been focusing all the sirens I can, also I know he uses a ensnare aura to stall copters but I've had even more luck using a gas trap in the same spot, try it out and be sure not to jump or it could cause projectiles to go a bit higher than the reflect.

I always ignore the sirens when I run this, their loot isn’t all that great in my experience. They only attack you if you attack them.

Thanks James! I’ve got footage captured for a wave 23 start on Magus Quarters that I’m planning to drop next, runs a lot faster than Alc Labs and no boss at the end. I do have an Alc Labs build but I haven’t been able to beat the boss!

I’ve been getting solid gold from running Mass Survival and selling off the junk. Usually end up with 1-2 bil at the end of each wave 23 start

Do you think this would work about the same for lowish level Insane? I started farming here on Insane at level 27~ish and made it to like wave 17. I'm up to level 45 on my builders, still grinding here on insane trying to get some Mr Mine pets for my builders. Or would you recommend getting exp and gear etc somewhere else when that low level?

Have you cleared the campaign on Insane yet? Playing with hardcore enabled? Can't hurt to give it a shot on Insane if you're up for it. Generally, I don't think farming survival for gear and pets is all that necessary until Nightmare unless a ton has changed since 1.1. I have a livestream vod on my channel clearing the Insane campaign without farming but ended up level 51 by the end of it. Need to do something to hit 70, farming Insane survival isn't a bad idea. The fastest XP is probably still The Summit campaign, hardcore if you can.

@@AnthemTD yeah I’m starting to realize all this stuff that’s been changed so much since the time all these guides have been made, a lot of guides, mostly by you and juicebags, still work to this day but some of them I have to make some changes or just try to make my own builds, but yeah I was under the assumption that towers were supposed to attack sirens because you implied that they would. I honestly just ignore sirens entirely if I’m AFK lol😂

@@AnthemTD fyi I tried it without the speedy gem and is doable, I just used one dst instead of 3 and added 2 fireball, and put some shock beams infront of the shields. Its slower but works fine, thanks for the build.

Did the shock beams do anything for you? I have high hopes for them as a lightning based CC but haven’t found a good use for them yet

@@AnthemTD yeah they stop poison res sharkens, that way I dont worry about sirens anymore. I just focus ogres, that way almost nothing pass esnare and gas trap and of they do shock beam. Also shock beams are really good on alchem lab if the stats are lower, with 3k on fortify for shock beams is good enough.
