​@TorbyBrand 7 years later but I share his sentiment this track really stands out to me it is quintessential Metroid. Alongside greats from Prime games Fusion or Super Metroid. Also big fan of the Metroid Queen theme I actually prefer it by far over Samus Returns version or how the Metroid battle themes change and evolve with the Metroids love it!

It's 100% original :) it ended up being very different in terms of mood, compared to other Metroid water areas. Mostly because of the big temple with electric balls :P

not gonna lie. been playing metroid since I was five. started off on super and played through em all. loved the soundtracks in all of the games. but this was the only metroid song that made me wanna cry. it was just refreshing to hear and see something new being introduced into the series. I absolutely cherish the soundtrack of AM2R. but no other song was able to take me back and make me remember why I love the metroid franchise. lower norfair, kraids lair, lower brinstar, brinstar (NES) none had that impact on me. it was incredible. I hadn't felt that way since I first started playing metroid fusion on my gameboy advance. thanks for that. you probably won't see this but i just wanted to say it. if the teaser at the end of AM2R really means you guys are working on ASMR.... I can't wait. I will do whatever it takes to help you guys. don't get discouraged that Nintendo took down am2r. it got out and it impacted people. I am proof of that. I am proof that your work went heavily appreciated. :)

I haven't played all the Metroid games so I assumed this was a remix of existing game music I simply hadn't heard before. Imagine my surprise to discover it is a completely original work. If no one had told me, I would never have guessed. This song is a perfect fit for the Metroid universe and it deserves to be held high right alongside the originals.

Area 5 has a really impressive sound, did good. I was honestly expecting a Maridia like song or remix(or maybe something like the crashed frigate track from Prime1) for area 5 when I first saw the concepts. Unfortunate that Nintendo is trying to kill metroid off instead of just see if Microsoft or Sony are interested in it, would love to see a super metroid remake or metroid prime sequel running on Xbox one.
