It's a reference to Zechariah 3:2 (KJV) - And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire? In support of this, Jude also quotes the language of Zech; in Jude 1:23 (KJV) - And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Israel was the body of Moses, for they where all baptized unto him 1 Corinthians 10:2 (KJV) - And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 1 Corinthians 10:17 (KJV) - For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

Yeah it's really disappointing, especially when they start saying that using the word 'Ascend' when referring to the Catholic belief. They also misstepped when they said the dogma is that Mary did not die, which is nowhere said in the document. If you read the document with honest eyes, a charitable heart, and prior knowledge of how papal documents read, you will see that Pope Pius does imply she died, although does not include that in the definition of the dogma.

@@MrCarpediem6 well he said something like the entire corpus of hymnography and iconography says she didn’t die and that is simply not true Pius cited Pope Adrian I in the Apostolic Constitution: “Venerable to us, O Lord, is the festivity of this day on which the holy Mother of God suffered temporal death, but still could not be kept down by the bonds of death, who has begotten your Son our Lord incarnate from herself.” Pius cited the text of the Byzantine Liturgy: “As he kept you a virgin in childbirth, thus he has kept your body incorrupt in the tomb and has glorified it by his divine act of transferring it from the tomb.” Citing Citing Saint Modestus: “As the most glorious Mother of Christ, our Savior and God and the giver of life and immortality, has been endowed with life by him, she has received an eternal incorruptibility of the body together with him who has raised her up from the tomb and has taken her up to himself in a way known only to him.” Plus you can see other artwork from the Renessainse that depicts the Virgin’s death (Nicola Filotesio in the 16th century for example). The Readings at Marina prior to the reform of the Divine Office had a text from St John Damascene on the Virgin’s death. The CCC even cites this (I don’t see it’s origin but it looks unRoman in paragraph 966: In giving birth you kept your virginity; in your Dormition you did not leave the world, O Mother of God, but were joined to the source of Life. You conceived the living God and, by your prayers, will deliver our souls from death. I think an argument could be made that Pius intended to settle the “opinion” that the Virgin didn’t die but wasn’t very successful.
