I love through where you go . I'm old and disabled. Never got to travel because of physical abuse my entire life. Thank you so very much for letting people like myself experience freedom and sites that are so beautiful. Please be careful but continue filming your trips. I love what you do and where you go. Thank you for including me as you experience everything. The sites are remarkable. The life our ancestors left behind.

I’m from England, and love history. In the past I never really thought of America as having a long, rich history even though I knew the basics of north and South American Indians. But watching your videos has really opened my eyes, you’re so luck to still have these untouched, virgin, historically rich places that with a bit of effort you can find, visit and enjoy with the wonderment of time. Thank you for showing us these treasures.

My soul has always ached to do stuff like this . But then I had 4 children and ended up raising them by myself which meant finances were tight and I was unable to do much of anything . Now that they are grown , this body of mine is falling apart and I’m too frail to do anything like this . Thank you for taking me to places I will never have the chance to visit . It’s so beautiful to see all these creations from a caring humble spirit like you. Be safe out there

These fascinating sites offer plenty for older folks. After visiting a popular site called the Citadel, we met four hikers approaching as we were leaving. They were all four around age 80, and in wonderful health, helped, no doubt, by the sort of hiking they were doing that day.

I too live in the mountains of the western edge of the Eastern Forest. I'm over 70, and hike a lot because my hobby of metal detecting can be remote. (People have lived in the damnedest of places.) Just walk. It's not a race, but a journey. And if you're out of shape, just walk up a trail about the distance around the inside of a Walmart, and come back. (And you won't buy something you don't need on a trail.) You'll see things you never noticed by just going out and coming back. Baby steps beats no steps.
@LazyIRanch
@LazyIRanch 5 ай бұрын
@@tinkerstrade3553 Also, compared to the People of Walmart, the folks I meet on the trail are usually lovely people who are happy to share their knowledge. Jeff wouldn't want to run into me, I'd go all fan girl and pester him with questions and reliving past videos... "Oh! Remember that time there was a creepy guy standing inside a cave, but it turned out to be a prank? For the last 17 years I've lived on a mountain in SoCal that used to be home to the Cahuilla people, among other tribes. They have a reservation and very profitable casino down at the base of the mountains today. Several tribe members have told me that this mountain is cursed and I'm not safe up here. I've come to agree, but I love this place too much to leave. I'd heard that the native peoples did not live higher than about 4000 ft. above sea level, because at the peak is a cavern with a particularly nasty demon-creature that eats people, named Tahquitz. I've never seen this monster, but I've sure heard it! I'm sure this noise is caused by wind or even seismic activity, but it scared the beejeebers out of me anyway. Very eerie LOUD sounds. Because of Jeff, I now know that indeed, those were grinding holes I found next to the big stream that runs most of the time about a mile from my house. Accessible only by deer trails. I didn't think to look for pot sherds, but if I can go back there again, I'll see if there are any, so that I can leave them alone!

I found this cave back in October and let another hiker on the observation platform know since it seemed not many people realized if they just walked a bit more they could have found it. So cool to see this specific cave that I thought was a rare sight now having a video dedicated to it. If you had kept going along the ridge above the caves, you would have found a native Moki staircase, along with the bolt used by climbers to lower their way onto the uppermost tier.

What I also love about Google Earth searching is being able to scroll through older images of previous satellite views which can often display more secrets., like if the vegetation was destroyed by fire it will expose paths or objects not otherwise easily visible. Otherwise certain years the images are clearer than others or shadows fall differently. I love what you do, thank you

Love your videos. When you visit Aztec, NM I suggest going E to the road that leads to the Dam. When you crest the hill, turn your car around for an amazing view. That very fragile soil that you showed will not recover in my lifetime.

Also at 3:29 right above the sign looks like two effigies facing one another, although they look more weathered than some of others at different locations you’ve been to it appears those once were watching over the location in a kissing per sey position. Just because a site is popular, doesn't mean it isn't worth an adventurous outing! Love that you decided to visit at a 'non-tourist' time--you appeared to have this location to yourself, Jeff! Was this curved dwelling place, an inactive caldera? What natural phenomena shaped it? It's incredibly picturesque! 6:03 The ancestors chose a good habitat, with its own skylight! 8:36 The BLM are upping their game: first, ridding themselves of the colonial-biased name tag, 'Anasazi' for the indigenous ancestors, and using the more accurate descriptive of 'ancestral pueblo' (at least, for pueblo-dwelling Native American cultures). NOW they need to rid themselves of another colonial bias name, 'Butler Wash'. That's a WASH OUT: choose a name more in keeping with the tribes whose homeland this was, and still is. All My Relations. 🤲🏻
