Humility of admitting your past mistakes, acceptance of who seem to be different at first glance, generosity of sharing your gifts and experience, and hope for a better future. These are all beautiful things that we should stay true to. Great scene!

@@GUNVALKERIE Don't give the writers ideas, they're already pushing 100 on nostalgia :P I want Dax to be a different character, he or she or they deserve a different take. I love Jadzia's open views on everything and still being a badass with a batleth. Curzon was genial and shrewd old man, and even the psychopathic serial killer Dax was interesting like Ezri's Hannibal Lecter. My guess is that in next season Dax might come back as a diplomat to help reform the Federation, it would be nice to see Dax have an interesting backstory, like maybe it now inhabits a Klingon host, the descendant of Worf through Alexander. The Trill as originally depicted in the Star Trek Universe are a joined species. But I don't know if that means the Trill are obligate hosts to the symbiotes -- I think it's neat to think that they can join with other life forms, if given enough time to adapt.

The bit with their bodies magically disappearing into the pools always annoys me. imo it taints an otherwise beautiful scene. They could have kept everything else the same, the pools themselves create the telepathic bond, they didn't need to be sucked into a magical realm.
