I was 18 when I saw the amazing, the incomparable, Miss Jennifer Holliday sing this song. She changed my life; she changed Musical Theatre for me, she changed music for me. I was terribly upset when they didn’t offer her a role in the movie and when Jennifer Hudson didn’t seem to give Miss Holliday the credit she deserved. It’s not until this beautiful human being that I’ve ever heard the song done as well as Jennifer Holliday. ❤️ Titus gave new meaning to the song and had me in tears. Bravo! I knew he was incredible, but this is absolutely next level 👏🏾
