My Lithium battery packs will not accept a charge when they are cold. I learned that this is because the internal battery management circuit (BMS) is programed to prevent damage from me trying to charge the lithium battery when it is below +/- 32ºF . I put my battery inside the heated cabin (or I can use the 12V outlet while driving my vehicle) to recharge them in cold weather. It looks like you are making pretty good progress to me. Thanks for the video Terry ! BTW, when you're ready for a challenge in cooking with dry staple foods consider trying some field corn. It takes me about 24 hours of simmering on top of the wood stove (or in a pot in the oven) to get the corn tender enough to use. It is a lot like chunks of potato in soups or stews.
@TRERUNSWILD Жыл бұрын
Whoa! Field corn? That's a new one for me. Just the kernels or the whole cob?
@noyopacific Жыл бұрын
@@TRERUNSWILD Just the kernels like you would get at any animal feed store. The corn I use is from bags I get to feed the ducks that visit us in the spring and summer. It's basically the same as hominy except corn kernels still have the outer covering (pericarp) on them. I don't mind the pericarp and it adds fiber! Whole corn is a fraction of the cost of hominy. You can tell when it's fully cooked when the kernels have absorbed enough water to puff up like popped corn. This should be a good substitute in any recipe for hominy stew. It might make a good addition to a video: A Whole New Way to Cook Corn. 😆 If you think you might want to try this let me know and I can give you more tips. It may take two or three days to make but we always make a big pot and eat it for several days.

Dried beans advise. 1, you don't need to soak your beans overnight. That's an old wives tale. They take just as long to cook. 2. If you hydrate your beans with flavorless water, you will get bland beans. Bean recipe 1/2 pound of dried beans. chicken broth or stock. I start with a 48 oz carton but I don't use it all. 2 medium carrots peeled and diced about 3/8" 1 medium onion diced about 3/8" 2 ribs of celery 3/8" dice A couple of jalapeños cored and seeded, diced fine. 2 garlic cloves diced fine 1 bay leaf 1/2 tsp pepper 1 tsp salt If you want to throw a smoked turkey wing or smoked pork neckbones, that wouldn't hurt. I usually add a couple TSB of hot sauce. Put beans in the pot and cover with about 1" of stock or broth. Add everything else. Bring to a rolling boil for about 10 minutes. Turn down to a low simmer. (Stir about every half hour) Put a lid on the pot and let simmer for 2-2.5 hours. Check beans for doneness. If they are still hard in the center. Put the lid on for another half hour. If they are almost done, turn the heat up a little to reduce liquid. Your onion and celery should have pretty much dissolved and made a nice sauce. Taste sauce. Add more salt and pepper if needed. There are really only 2 beans that aren't overpowered by the flavor of beef stock, red kidney beans and black beans.

Terry I'm no professional but from building a few deer camps and out builds, But I have found a few tricks that help later, like when building a wall cut your studs by the thickness of your bottom and two top plates plus 1 or 2 inches, this way when you sheet the outside your wall covering will hang down past the floor sheeting and onto the rim joist, giving you not only water barrier from your floor but also a air barrier. that's just one of the little things I've found helpful @@TRERUNSWILD

Every nail you put in is money saved. You did it and didn’t hire it out. I see 4 square walls which means you didn’t cut any corners. Lol I know you just got that joke. Great job. Before you head home look back at what you and river dog just accomplished. A job well done!!

Square. level and plumb are normally foreign concepts to me. I have to admit I'm proud of what I've learned along the way. Still clueless but it's a start. Thanks for hanging out with us!

The RD stole a pack of steaks once that were thawing. Couldn't find them for the life of me......until I did video edits and he was caught on camera walking by behind my back with the pack of steaks!

Hey I'm #1 today. Hey those 265 gal water tanks from north Iowa are 65 bucks. A great buy. They deliver to Austin mn. Car wash them and ready to go. More we buy the better deals. You should have 2 anyhow. Plus I have a new l.p. gas wall heater in the box it was 390 new 200 takes ìt. Never used
