You need a certain amount of distance between you and the backdrop, plus you’ll need to get really strong depth of field from you camera. Set the aperture in MANUAL at the widest position…it’ll be f1.4 or f2.8. Next, you’ll need a variable ND Filter for the lens which will control the light going into the camera. Lastly a key light that has flappy doors to focus the light to your face.

We had G1 Sandstorm, great toy for the time. This new one has weird feet but otherwise looks ok. Might wait for the new Springer instead. Love the Shockwave though.

Well Botmatrix, To start I like what you're trying to go for with the set theme. Just remember to do MAT BLACK colors when ordering anything to get the void look. Also no direct light shining on those surfesses with thing like spot lighting lamps. It kills the illusion of endless emptiness when there is a clear line that is reflecting the light. A suggestion I might make is to put randomly placed tiny lights poking through the backdrop. This gives the illusion of the endless void of space. With the lights slightly behind the backdrops holes it makes the backdrop appear darker than it really is, because your eyes become more focussed on the lights rather than the rest of it. Just don't use thin materials doing this trick. If it's to thin it'll be like a transparent membrane that will bleed all the light through. Thus destroying the look of real space. And secondly we're suposed to eventually get a leader class Springer in the studio series 86 line. Although they mentioned that way back before they even dropped SS86 Sludge. So who knows when that will really happen at this point.

you need to get a back ground that is the color of Vantablack. i think it is a bit pricey but would give you the desired affect you are looking for. We are going to get a leader class Springer in the SS86 line. thank you for the news good sir! til next time.

Broadside may be confirmed already because when one of the designers (I’m pretty sure Mark but I forgot) was asked about a Leader Broadside, all he had to say was “So there’s a funny story about that”. It may just be a joke or he may be talking about another character but I’m hoping to see a better Broadside compared to the TR version.

greenscreen/bluescreen chroma keyed to black/void might be easier than trying to get real material look pure black, if you really want pure black paint you want black 3.0 or black 4.0 but it is expensive

It's definitely not cheap, but Musou Black Fabric would be a good choice if you really wanted to look like you are in the void.

The new HasLab's Omega Supreme looks great and my brother has the OG RID Ultra Magnus and it is a terrible figure including how the vehicle mode can easily fall apart
